For golfers who have 90-95 Mph swing speed (driver), how far do you hit your 5 wood?   From the tee and off the deck.....

200 yards off the deck, maybe another 5/10 off the tee.

94mph swing speed-
220 off the tee
210 off the fairway

However - I use a shallow face Sonartec NP-99.  I only tee the ball up no more then 1/4", so its a bit like hitting a ball off a fairway.  Tee'd any higher and I'm marking the top of the club : (

220-230 off a tee
200-220  off the grass depending on contact

Adams 18 degree insight - love the club!

Looking for a new 5 wood so I thought I'd bump this thread....

What swing speed u guys talking about 95mph with a 45" driver or with a 42" 5-wood?

I know from time on launch monitors that my driver is 98-102mph.

Don't have a clue what my SS is with the 5 wood, but my 18* typically goes 205.  I get 215 when lucky.

The relationship between the speed of your swing and the distance the golf ball travels is a complicated one. The distance does not correlate exactly to the speed at which you swing the club and the kinetic energy you impart on the ball. The important variables to remember are the loft of the club, the climate you're playing in, the type of ball you're using and the launch angle involved in the shot. However, the physics involved and the complex nature of biomechanical analysis can be distracting. There has been a simplified equation that defines only the speed of the swing and not the resulting impact on the distance and accuracy of the ball.

I'm in that driver clubhead speed ballpark, and I carry my 5w about 195 off the deck. I regularly play a fairly uphill 195 yard par 3 and my best 5w will carry onto the green. So it must be a bit longer off a tee.

I recently went from a 5 wood to a 18* hybrid, I hit it about 200 off the tee, 190 - 195 off the deck.  Hybrid to me seems a little easier to hit than a 5 wood, especially in the rough and from fairway bunkers.  Also a little easier to chip with from just off the green if you play that shot.

19* 5 wood goes about 180-200, depending on the quality of contact.

Your SS is the same as mine, about 93 mph.
