Gachet, thanks for coming through again! I knew he used the 503i at some point. Do you know what shaft he uses in it? How do you get all those pics? Really impressive.

He is some kind of golfer. Absolutely incredible speed.

I just watched that video of him sticking it to 8 ft with an iron from 270....that was unreal...guy is an animal

became a big fan of him when i was at the duetche bank when he came up to the 4 or 5th tee on the final day and chatted with a young kid and then tossed him his ball from the last hole...pretty cool gesture.

The Tour only uses two holes (usually they try to get one into the wind and one downwind where the players will hit drivers) to measure driving distance.  A lot of the pros don't always hit driver on the holes they measure.  Drives also must be in the fairway to count.

My very educated guess is that Gary doesn't hit driver on every hole that is used for measuring.

Yes, they choose 2 holes in opposite directions, but they are holes where the players are almost certain to hit driver-and often there is no, or v, little wind

If someone was a real long drive phenomenon, wouldn't he still be averaging somewhere around 340-at least?

Numbers don't always give you the whole story.  If you get a chance you should just watch him play sometime.  It is an impressive sight.

straight out of tigers mouth on T.V..he said nobody has anything on woodland, driving range is where the tour pros judge,  and everyone has said woodland is the longest...........stats on T.V. dont tell the truth and for sure woodland could be hitting 3 wood or 2 iron or even throttling back, who knows

but i saw tiger talk about woodland with a very serious face and he said the dude an animal......pretty good and reliable source

Was watching "on the range" on GC (cool show so far)  and alex miceli said titleist made gary a new "handmade" set of irons. Anyone have any info on these? Prob just some mb's made to his exact specs? He said they have less offset then his previous irons.

think he had a set of 712 mb's made in a chrome finish to be more like his 710's. that was a quote in the thread about him and his 10.5 degree practice driver!

Thats quite a statement coming from Butch considering who he's worked with

Anyone know anything about that 2 iron he carries, is it an iron type hybrid or just a really bulked up blade, whatever it is he absolutely kills it

Gary carries a Titleist 503i 19 degree iron, it was a prototype for the 503H.  Much better looking graphics than the one available at retail (looks more like a blade iron on the back) and much less offset.  They pop up on eBay for big money every now and then.  There is a member here with one in his bag.

That would be me and some others I'm sure. I just had it reshafted before I had wrist surgery with a PX6.0. Really nice performance. I'm still about 3 weeks before I can start swinging all out again and I'm starting to really get the itch badly. The weather has been so mild in NC this winter.
