Just spoke with Gary Woodland. Said a key w/ new Callaway clubs was having Butch Harmon there during testing. "He knew what I needed."

Another point from Woodland: With clubs going a few yards farther has spent the last week with his caddie getting used to the new distances.
So I sent a Tweet to Mike to ask for more details on the WITB, here was his response, lol:

thats nuts. you'd think they would figure out another way for him to lose distance before resorting to steel

I'm guessing height and spin were a factor with how hard he hits it. Lower lofted FW with shorter, heavier shaft to keep things down. Damn, it must suck to have those problems.... LOL.
Oh yeah, Chad Tweeted me a response and he thinks its an X100 tipped 3". Yes, 3".

Correct me if I am wrong, but tiger won the masters in 1997 with a 9* Cobra steel shafted driver @ 43.5" length. Steel doesn't suck
Sorry I don't have the data till current
Tigers driving data - went graphite in 2004
YEAR…………………FWY %
1997…………………….68.6%
1998…………………….67.9%
1999…………………….71.3%
2000…………………….71.2%
2001…………………….65.5%
2002…………………….67.5%
2003…………………….62.7%
2004…………………….56.1%
2005…………………….54.6%
2006…………………….60.7%
2007…………………….59.8%
2008…………………….57.9%
Let’s also look at Tiger’s driving distance during these years.
1997…………………....294.8
1998……………………296.3
1999……………………293.1
2000……………………298.0
2001……………………297.6
2002……………………293.3
2003……………………299.5
2004……………………301.9
2005……………………316.1
2006……………………306.4
2007……………………302.4
2008……………………294.3
Woodland might be trying to get a little more accuracy

not saying steel is bad, but wouldn't the club have a completely different feel from graphite? but anyhow i still think thats crazy that he's hitting it so far!
