Sun Mtn 3.5 has a huge following, and the Titelist bags are made by Sun mtn.  In my opinion, if you are looking at carry stand bags, pretty much anything in the 4 to 4.5 lbs category will be close to the same.  The next challenge to keep it light is not piling to much stuff in it.  I think that is what really leads people away from hybrid bags.  A 5-6 lbs bag doesn't seem bad, until you fill the huge number of pockets it has.

If you can narrow a budget range, or a couple brand you prefer, I think you'll get more response here. Pretty much every company makes a decent lightweight stand bag.

I had the Callaway Hyper-Lite 3.0 for a few weeks but had problems with the legs drooping.  Tried 2 bags both the same.  Moved up to the Hyper 4.0 (free upgrade from Callaway) and it's worked great so far.

I use the Swift X, and been a good bag. Stable, enough pockets. Material doesn't seem to wear as well as my previous one.

A bag that I had before this one, that held up real well, was the Ping Mite-E-Lite. I see them on Ebay at times. That was around 3#.

For stand bags I don't worry about he weight that much. I can't tell the difference between 16 total lbs or 18 total lbs (loaded with clubs.

Just weighed a couple of bags:

2011 SM Three5 - 4.8 lbs
2011 SM Four4 - 5.4 lbs
2010 Ping 4Under - 4.4 lbs
2011 TM Pure Lite - 4.9 lbs
2011 TM Micro Lite - 4.2 lbs
2010 Ping Hoofer C-1 - 5.0 lbs
2010 Callaway Chev 18 - 4.8 lbs

I would say that every manufacture's posted weight is nowhere near the actual weight of the bags.

Nice work. Those numbers are really interesting.  Based on that it seems its mostly just marketing hype.  No wonder I can't tell the difference.

So do you actually own all those bags?  Or just work at a proshop/store?

I tried weighing my bag, but it's a little hard on a bathroom scale. Somewhere right around three pounds.

To all who can't tell a difference in weight, I have some foot issues. And for me, I can tell the difference walking 18 holes. I try to keep the bag as light as I can. I carry 13 clubs, and only a few balls for a reason. All my golfing buddies have different carry bags, with 14 clubs and whatever else in their bags, and whenever they pick up my bag, for whatever reason, they always comment on how light it is. I could never carry the bags some of these guys have.

It is my understanding that SUN MOUNTAIN doesn't weigh their bags with any straps attached for the "published" weights.  Maybe they don't have the legs on them too when they come up with these weights.

Regardless, the Swift X was noticeably lighter to me!  I still like their bags a ton.
