he's just got so much faith in that putter.  I love the method 003 but he's shown the success he can have with that scotty so it makes the most sense for him to use.

At least 30 putts today.  Maybe the poor putter is out of bullets.

I'd certainly hope so. That was a relatively easy putt.

He'll be back with the method 003 by years end

an eagle on the 18th is all nice and all but he needs to step up his game or those Europeans are going to make him look like a rookie

I think the biggest sign that it might be the end of tigers dominance was when he switched putters. When a golfer starts to switch putters like that it means they have lost confidence and are looking for an edge.

Yeah, Jim Furyk switching to a Yes! putter signaled the end of his dominance...wait, isn't he the reigning FedEx Cup Champion?  I might be mistaken.   ;)

Tough to compare Furyk changing to a new putter (something he does virtually every season) with Tiger changing to a new putter.  What was he on ... 11 or 12 seasons with the same putter?  I'd have to say that move from Tiger is pretty much the equivalent of a hail mary pass before halftime, out of other good options, chuck it up there and see what happens.

I was really confused when he switched putters as well. He played great with it during the final round of the Australian Masters, and a good performance at the Chevron. He is very odd with his equipment.

it was hardly a new putter for tiger. He uses the method for practice and felt at the time it helped him with his stroke

I agree. I wonder if his stubbornness about his equipment is going to hold him back. He's looking awfully human lately.

I think that the real problem is the switching of putters to start with...I think he has won all of his majors but one with that scotty, thats not something you mess with. The method is 'ok' but no where as nice as the scotty...just my thoughts

If he was all that stubborn he should have kept his Nike Blades instead of switching to the VR TWs. He's had incredible success with them and won the 2008 US Open with them. That year he was going back and forth but only won with the older blades.

He had some success with the VRs in 09 but most of his six wins and 13 top tens that season he was using the reg blades. In '10 he played the VRs exclusively and didn't win once. I really think Nike forced those on him for sticking with him.

I know players at his level can play anything but by my observation, this is where his iron play started to suffer. These are the only pieces of equipment I've ever been concerned about when it pertained to Tiger. Something I've especially paid attention to since 2008.

But I also agree that using his Method 003 putter has been working better for him. He usually states that when he isn't putting well, it's because he's not getting enough left arm rotation. The 003 promotes this which is why he practices with it.

Yes I'm a huge TW fan as far as golf is concerned.

I think he likes the Method on slower greens and the Cameron on fast greens.  The greens in Dubai appeared to be quite fast.

in 2010 he never played the real VR TW blades the ones he played were the ones from 2008 just with the new VR finish.

Disappointed- only a putter thread. I was hoping we were going to get some insight as to where he stayed and how he managed to avoid all the blonde Russian hookers that frequent the region :diablo:  :sorry:
