Not real original designs, are they? Sure this wasn't the T.P. Mills booth?

The putters are similar in their originality to your post.

I'm sure....T.P. Mills did not have a booth this year. Are you sure you didn't mean to reference Ping? :man_in_love:

I was wondering why there wasn't a TP Mills thread. He usually has some of the best looking putters at the show.

Yes, the old Ferrari analogy applies here. The only thing I would say is, people are basically giving this guy a license to print money, when it takes very little work to actually make a 009. Most of those things are hideous anyway.

I don't understand why people feel the need to make posts like these. It's been going on for years, and I guess it will never change. I'll just keep hoping...

Kev lets not compare picasso to don making a putter.  If you really want to compare cars to putters ok lets do it shall we ???????
Cameron putter $16,000    Avg putter cost $100  = 160x's the cost of an avg putter
Avg Car cost $20,000   160x avg car (20,000) =

                                   $3, 200,000.00   That's one helluva car

Save the CAR analogy.

Keep in mind the asking prices are set by Table Rock and not Cameron (although I'm sure there are some MAPP/suggested price guidelines).  TR is overpriced compared to the "aftermarket" driven by savvy golfers/collectors.

If Don was upset and didn't agree with Table Rock's pricing he would put an end to it.    He doesn't and hasn't done that so his actions speak volumes.  In the end he can do whatever he wants but this is why cameron is losing steam and followers.  Most people are trying to put food on the table and this knucklehead is creating putters that cost thousands.  Poor form Don.:diablo:

Oy vey! You certainly are incorrigible in the same vein as the practices you consistently comment on.

call me whatever you'd like but I call a duck a duck.  I admire the putters and think they are well crafted pieces of equipment, no arguement there from me.  The problem I have is the price tag that say $16,000.  It seems as though everyone in thread feels the same way so your the odd man out.

I never understood why price tags are EVER a problem since purchasing something is generally a voluntary act.

To your point of me being an odd man out...I never even remotely touched on my personal opinion of the asking prices so please don't assume to know how I feel or what I think.  Your defensiveness about Cameron stuff obviously affects your reading comprehension.

It is almost impossible to remember how tragic a place the world is when one is playing golf. -Robert Wilson Lynd

Sorry but I don't get what you're talking about......if you're inferring that I have a 009, no I do not have one. And I was referring to most of those $10k+ putters in the pics as hideous, there are many very nice 009s and Circle Ts.

If you're suggesting that an "investment" in one of those $10k putters is no less safe than other financial securities, well that's neither here nor there.

My apologies, I meant that at the Ferrari nonsense.  I like the Lighten up Francis lol good stuff.  This topic isn't life or death but for people to justify them charging that much for a putter is more then I can take.  It's crazy, flat out crazy and irresponsible.

I made the Ferrari analogy......so like the man said "Lighten Up Francis".

P.S. That was't an average putter, 1 of a kind actually. So how's to saw what it's worth? I know 2 people who....the guy who's name is on it and the one who paid $6k for it.

Enjoy your $100 putter as I hope the new owner will his!

Yes my 10k is safe from his hands however if that price tag came with a putter fitting and I could customize my own Scotty from scratch then I could see myself dropping serious coin on one.

Interesting you said that., because that is exactly what can be done as soon as the new fitting studio is open at M&G in Japan. Soon to follow will be the samething at the Studio in Ca.
You the few you will get hands on putter fitting and then a certain level of Tour putter will come with that fittin in your specs.

He makes all sorts of putters at all sorts of price points.  Buy and game what ever you want/can afford.  The 16K price tag is ridiculous yes, but to a guy who has millions what the heck does he care.

I bought my first Cameron in 1996 and a few others after that (including a limited edition in 2002 and the TI10). I thought i was nut to pay $700 for a putter. I also joined a Cameron chat web site and it made me realize how stupid people were about these putters.... They talked and said things about their putters like they were objects to idolize and pamper. It's only a putter..... And the majority of people dont play them. Put them in a rack on the wall and look at them. What a waste.

I got rid of all of mine and am happy i did. I then bought a limited edition Whitlam that basicaly cost me the price of an over the counter cameron putter. That Whitlam is better than any of those $10k cameron putters. And if i need a new putter cover for it it's less that $30.

But the stuff they make is "pretty".

I game both the scottys and gague. Both are great, but I have to say my gague is now my go to putter. IMHO.  Of course I have never even seen a $10,000 putter, in person that is.

Putters at that price point are more for collector and wall hanging purposes.  I have to agree with drpino, why does price matter?  If you don't like price then DON'T BUY IT.  You can order a custom tour putter now, fitting in person is in the future.

J13 has some serious hate for Scotty Cameron, why?  Who knows really, his reasoning doesn't make sense to me.  So you guys like Whitlam's work...good for you.  If you don't wanna buy expensive covers and putters, fine, don't buy them.  I just don't get the hate solely because of hype and price.  If you don't think for one minute that any of these smaller custom boutique type putter makers wouldn't charge the same prices for everything that Scotty does if they could then you are absolutely fooling yourself.

BINGO i didn't want to take it down the personal road but here we are. I'm done commenting on Don for good.  It will make some people happy I'm sure.  If they think Don is this sweet old man making handcrafted putters well then so be it.  I'm OFFICIALLY OUT OF ALL CAMERON THREADS

Congrats on the baby boy!  I honestly don't know much about Scotty's personal life or what's he done to other people.  I must be naive in that regards.  PM it to me if you want I'm genuinely interested to know.  I always think there's two sides to every story though.  Anyway, congrats again on the new family member.

this thread makes me laugh, coming from a machining background (brother owns a CNC business) i know what goes into making things like this and it's really not all that hard and what he is making most putter out of i would assume is high carbon steel and the high carbon stuff is cheaper but softer so it has a much better feel in terms of putting so for what it does it's a good choice. the funny part though is that all of you act like you would throw a $200 price tag on a putter that you could most likely sell for $16,000... if he can sell it for that money why hate on him? if i was going to hate on somone it would be the guy buying it and i dont see the point of that one either...
