Well, I was at my local Golf Galaxy, getting a new R9 sleeve put on my TGw 90X for the 3 wood.  While I was waiting, I walked over to the used area, and there were 3 sets of blades.  MB 710s for about $500, some Hogan Apex blades for about $130, and then some Mizuno MP-11s for $150.  I, being a Mizuno guy, immediately grabbed the MP-11 6 iron, and hopped in the sim.  Of course, I payed no attention to the numbers on the sim, but I had to hit them nonetheless.  I hit it pure.  and I mean PURE.  So then I grabbed the 3 iron.  I hit it pure too.  So then my shaft was finished, and I told my mom what I was spending my Christmas money on.  A brand-new looking set of MP-11s for $150.  These babies are absolutely MINT!!!  I think someone has kept them in the closet for about 18 years.  I mean, there's hardly any chatter on them at all!

So I got them, and I was wondering if anyone knew the specs on these bad boys.  I know they are from 1992/93, and Faldo used them for his Masters.  I just wanted to know if anyone knew.  I'm sure Mat or someone well versed in Mizuno history knows.  Thanks in advance guys!!

Don't know the specs, but you have a nice set there, I used a set for half a year.  Not very long in the least bit, but they feel sooooooooo good when you get them on the screws.

yeah, I'm not worried about the distance, as I'm long enough as it is.  I was just wondering if anyone knew any of the standard lofts.  The oldest Mizuno iron specs that I could find were the MP-14s.  Surely someone knows...

I couldn't find anything on my brief search but anyway nice pickup.  I've got an old pristine set too that I haven't find info on.  Anyway, enjoy them!

Oh, I'll enjoy them for sure.  I'm thinking that they'll be about a club weaker than my 68s and that way i can drop the gap wedge and then carry hybrid and 3 wood.

The mp11 have oldschool lofts with pw @50*. I don't think mizuno changed to 48* pw until the mp 29. The old lofts work ok because they are a full club weaker than modern sets. all you do is drop your gap wedge. 2-pw in the mp 11 is the same as 3-gw in modern sets. Often players have the lofts strengthened in these oldschool blade sets. That also decreases the bounce angle. Because of the condition of yours they well may be original. /the only way to tell for sure is to put them on a loft and lie machine.
Try this link.

I think the specs are the same as the mp14's.

Thanks for that link Oldplayer.  I'm just waiting for the snow to melt, and then I'll take these guys out for a spin.  They are going in the bag for sure though!  I have a feeling that these will be replacing the 62/68 combo set that's in the bag now.  I'm certainly excited to play these.

Thats a pretty good price for the set, in mint condition. I'm assuming from your sig, you were at Louisville GG. I've picked up some pretty good deals there. What shafts were in them?

yeah.   They look pretty much brand new.
These are all of the 6 iron.  It's probably the most used of the entire set.
