Ordered my S56's today. I'm gonna get impatient waiting for them I bet lol.

I lowered my spin down to 2300-2900, not bad, depends what ball and club, I've been trying new drivers recently.

you lowered it by 1500?

I believe I was on a crapola launch monitor, because I don't have a steep swing, but yeah it's pretty optimal now.

I can't express how happy I am for him.
He began playing golf when he was 10yrs old and when he was 11 he was in a pro shop in San Antonio that had a basket of collegiate ball markers.  He rummaged through them and pulled out an OSU ball marker and the pro behind the counter said: "that right there is the best golf school in the country" He instantly turned to me and said: "I want this one"

I bought it and he wore it day in day out and told everyone he was going to go to play golf at OSU.  He couldn't even break 80 then and everyone laughed. When he was 12, things changed........ I am proud that he dreamed about it and HE made it happen.  The thousands of hours he has spent pounding balls and practicing.  He deserves it.
Doesn't seem thaat long ago. Here he is when he was 12.

Stratton's dedication to the game is amazing, as well as how much you have encouraged him/ helped him along the way. Although you may feel that he has done all of it himself, as a kid I can tell you that I count on the encouragement of other to help me succeed, and I believ you have helped him in this sense. Another thing I admire is how you haven't 'forced' him into this. Alot of kids I know who play AJGA and other top notch organizations don't enjoy the game as much as myself due to the fact that they are being pushed to hard by others that surround them. I feel that stuff like this goes unnoticed, so I just wanted to give you big props for it.

They are in the midst of their golf season right now. They actually play the entire school year. A fall and a spring schedule. The team left this morning for their last tournament of the year prior to the beginning of District, Regionals & State. They play in 8 tournaments a year not including district/region&state. Right now Stratton is the #1 ranked player in the 5A division (largest schools). His team is ranked second right now to last years champion. The team has two top notched players, one good player and the 4 & 5 positions have killed them. Stratt was medalist in the last two events (one being the state preview) but the team finished second again having to record a 84 as their fourth score.   The 4 & 5 are very capable, they have just been playing terrible in events.

On his bag........ We are almost ready for another complete photo update.  I installed new orange ferrules w/white & black rings, he has a new players towel with his logo, name in a Oklahoma State motif.  He has a Pistol Pete driver cover w/ white PING fur fairway covers with the swinging Pete logo on them, a PING / OSU putter cover, orange alignment sticks all in a white PING OSU bag with orange piping.  Stratton paint filled all of his irons and wedges orange & black of  course. It is a really sick looking setup.   It should photograph well.

can't wait to see pics
so obviously he's going to be playing for OSU...was there a thread about it, or your story above was the news break?

thats so awesome......I'm an envious Dad.....but have a LONG way to wait for my kiddos (only 4 & 2 !! LOL! )
I actually have been going to the dome w my 4 yr old girl every Sunday
she hits 2 large buckets of balls herself every Sunday...funny thing - we started going only about a month ago
in 4 weeks she has gone from whiffing at it, to being able to get the ball about 5 feet airborn and about 20 yards deep....not bad!!!
after last weeks session, she's like DAD!!!!! Whats this???!!! it hurts...... "thats a golf blister sweetie" and boom...she high fives me!!! ... I almost cried there on the spot

then i reward her w a slurpee after...I think shes more excited about that than anything tho!!

really enjoy reading all your posts about Stratt Deerslayer.....congrats on the new school for him and cant wait to see his game grow and maybe one day play in the show

A week ago Thursday night, Stratton committed to play for OSU.  It was a big night for him and I know he was finally ready to get the recruiting stuff behind him and start preparing for his future.  He had some great visits and relationships with coaches and schools. I am glad he took his time and weighed all of his options before committing. It is a good fit for him and I know he has always wanted to be a part of the tradition that is Oklahoma State Golf.

As an OKState fan I am glad to see he picked OSU.  There is nothing like walking in those doors at Karsten Creek and taking a walk down their awards hall.  Hope we see Stratton's name on the All-American wall in the future.  Good luck.

ABSOLUTELY!  He already has spent a LOT of time in the hall looking and planning.  He knows the OSU history front and back.  He is already prepared to take Coach McGraw's test.  I know he envisions himself becoming part of the decor in the hall.

Here is a sneak preview of some of his new swag.  There never was a question whether he will have EVERYTHING coordinated. LOL  He has his gear at his HS tournament, but here are some of the left-overs from the build.

(Not the greatest quality because it is from my phone, but here is a taste)

You need to post pictures of the white/orange osu bag, sounds sweet!
