I'm actually looking forward to watching this. Should be much more interesting than Ray Ramano. Going to be pretty funny dialogue with conflicting personalities.

True enough.  He's right!  (LOL!)  People will be watching it hoping he sucks.  Thing is he knows that which would motivate anyone to try to learn and do well.  I'm looking forward to watching it and hopefully it's GOT to be better than Romano and Barkley.

Barkley was funny, Romano was terrible (his father passed so you can't really blame him), and I expect Rush to be somewhere in between.

People will be split. A lot of people like him, he is the most listened man on the radio.

Out of curiosity, what was the ultimate improvement in handicaps of Barkley and Romano?  Isn't that the ultimate in determination of the success of the "project?"

It is.  But Ray wanted to break 80.  I don't think he's done that yet.  He kept going back and forth on fixes where he never was too consistent.  Charles has resorted to try to golf left handed.  Whatever bad tips he got is ingrained in his head.

Oh, man I HATE this show now.  Golf Channel needs to stop with the celebrities and have Hank roll up on the range and work with some schmuck and his/her pals for a session and 18 holes.

You only hate the show NOW that Limbaugh is the guest?

How open minded of you.....

Haney is over rated.....His inability (combined with Nike's to fit correctly) is the most glaring point to come out of the Barkley fiasco.

Charles is BIG and WIDE and his clubs are WAY TOO SHORT. His spine angle change in his down swing is entriely due to clubs that are not designed for his build.

I would build him irons that are at least 3 inches longer than standard just so he could keep his balance from the top of his back swing and into impact. How the dunces at Nike have failed to recognize this shocks me.

I think that they need to do a Big Break with a group of low single digit handicaps that want to try to play professionally. The winner then goes and does the Haney Project for a season. Then you get him a few sponsor invites on some mini tour and follow his progress. This way you have three shows spanning three seasons.

It may be entertaining to watch Haney try to teach someone who already knows everything, at least for the first show. I will likely be sick of it after that.

Have always thought that there are some great ideas in this membership.  Making a year of instruction with a Haney, Foley, etc as part of the winner's package on BB is an outstanding idea!

I think there needs to be a class in how to take Rush.

See, everyone thinks that Rush is full of himself, and thinks he is above everyone, and possibly, the game. People who listen to his show know the truth, that he is very sarcastic about everything. That's his shitck. It's what I, and those that listen, find hilarious about him, and those that don't, despise him.

If everyone forgets about his personna, and watches the show knowing that, you may just see some humor.

I have given the first two shows a try.  I enjoyed watching the Barkley trainwreck.  The Romano version made me dislike Ray.  I have always enjoyed Rush, although I do not listen very often.  I can't wait to see how long before he fires up his first cigar (and what kind it is).

Because that's what he wants you to think. It's his genius, that's how I know. (where is that roll your eyes smilie...)

No need to get worked up about a show on TV. Just sit back and enjoy, or turn the channel.

I hate the show "now" because it has devolved, from a head case pro athlete, to a head case has been actor, to a head case radio personality.  I had hoped they would pick more interesting people, folks that were at least likeable.  No politics involved in my statement.  Quit trying so hard...

Watching TGC now and the early lessons for Barkley.  It looks like Haney had him with a much better swing with the Leadbetter "pick it up drill."  What the heck happened to him?  Like the approach of teaching him a completely new swing as opposed to working with he had.  Duh.

It will be interesting, with Barkley you have a world class athelete who is a head case on the golf course, with Romano you have a guy who in reality seemed to have a pretty negative and self defeating attitude attitude in my opinion.  To me Romano almost seemed afraid of getting better where Barkley wanted to get better so bad it gets in his head.  With Rush you have the worst looking athelete of them all but someone who is self admitidly very strong willed and but whom I feel will be brutally honest with himself.  What will make the show entertaining is that Rush will have 1/2 the audience loving him and 1/2 of it watching just becasue they want to watch him fail.  My guess is Rush will improve the most if Haney can get him working on what he needs to work on the most, probably just a dependable swing but mostly a short game.

In the end it is just a silly golf show, and quite frankly I wouldn't want to put myself under that microscope, talk about pressure! Trying to show off your game in front of TV cameras in front of the world espercially when you are just used to playing in front of a few of your buddies at the club, if anyone had an advantage it should have been Barkley because he has played in a lot of celebrity tournaments, but maybe that is why he became a head case in teh first place.

If the people were "likable" that wouldn't be reality TV would it?  The people involved have to want to be there and the network needs to move the needle with either people you like, hate, or are somewhere in between.  Like was Romano, Barkley was..well it was just sad.  Rush is definately in between.  Securely.  The first two didn't work because no one watched in such a way to make it a hit...however, by all accounts, the first two shows succeeded just enough to bring it back for a third season.  People here are discussing it and more than one of us will be watching to see him succeed or fail.

No one in their right mind wants to see a golfer struggle.  We've all been there and it's painful not only for the golfer but for those watching.  Now Limbaugh is putting himself out there in order to hopefully get better, all the while saying things that will inevitably get people riled up, or laughing either positively or negatively.

Either way, I'll be watching and rooting for him, just like I rooted for Charles and Ray to get better.  Yeah it's millionaires golfing.  But if they were golfing to a 3 handicap, it would be boring, wouldn't it?  If Haney grabbed my sorry 25 handicap off the range, you'd probably wonder who that fluffy dude is with the bad slice?  I would neither be interesting and maybe (mercifully), the show would get cancelled!   :D

If you think you'll be offended, don't watch.  It's really that simple.

It's out of his control....he's just not a good teacher for those w/out considerable skills and the time and dedication to learn basically on their own.
