The long awaited Srixon Driver is FINALLY here and let me say that this one definitely surpasses ANYTHING that they've released yet to date!

The 2011 Srixon Z-Star driver with Miyazaki DROMOS shaft first and foremost is a thing of beauty. From the very clean 460cc clubhead to the EXTREMELY detailed artwork on the shaft this driver is looking for attention.

I had a chance to take this one for a test drive awhile back and am anxiously awaiting the release. The head produces a slightly higher spin rate than some of the other driver out there, but paired with the stock Miyazaki DROMOS shaft this beast just want to go and go!

Full Editorial Review will be up soon. In the meantime, here are some pics.

Cheers!

Wow! I love the solid lines on the face. Doubt they will make it left handed! :(

I'll have some comparison pics up between the 2010 Srizon Z-TX and 2011 Srixon Z-Star in the next day or so as well as the tech specs.

Nice! Not many new drivers catch my eye, but this one definitely does. Looking forward to the review.

Great looking shape. The face doesn't look real deep. How does their weight system work?

Yes, Miyazaki shafts (Kusala, C.Kua and the DROMOS) all MAP for right around $300. However you'll see ALL these shafts (not 100% about the Kusala, but likely Special Order) in the 2011 Cleveland/Srixon Line as STOCK offerings. FWIW, Miyazaki falls under the SRI Sports Umbrella along with Cleveland/Srixon.

Haven't had a chance to fully test out the DROMOS just yet to give it a fair review/comparison, but stay tuned. Hoping to have some LM data in the upcoming weeks.

I'll snap a few pics of the wrench/weights tomorrow. In short, the weights are color coded (Red/White/Blue) and come stock with (2) 7 gram (white coded).

Inside the wrench are (2) additional weights - (1) Blue 3 gram and (1) Red 11 gram.

So the weight ports are in the back and heel? Neutral or draw bias w/ weight, fade is done with hosel adjustment?

The face looks like a mizuno. The weights are like taylormade. The hosel looks like the one from my Nickent 4dx evolver. Not going to lie, I kind of like the look of this one.

I hit this, along with everything else new for 2011, during testing this past October. It was easily in my top five favorite drivers. Funny thing was I probably would have never considered this driver had I not been handed it to test. I think my favorite part was the shaft. It was the perfect blend between stability and feel. I don't think Miyazaki could have done any better. This club hit mid trajectory bombs. For those of you considering drivers for 2011 I would take a serious look at this one.

US Version. Not sure how the JDM driver is, but I'll try to get some specs in the upcoming weeks.

You're exactly right! Some of these OEM's (Srixon, Bridgestone, etc.) come out with amazing product year after year and a majority of the time it goes unnoticed until it has been drastically reduced in price. The 701 Tour's and the J36's respectively come to mind...

I think we'll see a different marketing strategy by many OEM's in 2011 which should address this. At least I'm hoping so...

Really like the look of this one....

Just hope that the face has a bit more "pop" in this model.... as the previous offerings from Srixon have lacked a little in that department, in my experience.

Also like the idea of a Srixon driver with the option of an open face, which is another reason why I've shyed away from them in the past. Can't wait to hear some LM numbers.  The DROMOS shaft looks fantastic as well. :kewlpics:

I've been waiting for this thing for so long!!!  I've always like the way Srixon drivers looked and performed, but they just lacked in the feel department, this may solve that since the DROMOS is designed to work specially with adjustable drivers.  Looking forward to an always excellent Sakman review!

Do you know the lofts available for this beast? I hope there's something in the 8-8.5* range at least.

I believe 9 is the lowest loft and they'll also have a 10.5. Hoping to have a spec sheet in the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned.

Very cool.  Adjustability looks like it's akin to the SuperTri, correct?  Movable weights and an adjustable face?

For 2011, Titleist, Mizuno, Srixon and Adams are all contenders.

i bet SRI Sports/Srixon/Cleveland/Miyazaki blows up in '11.

Thanks for the scoop, Sakman!  Looks real tempting... thankfully I save winters for putter ho'ing and on-season for driver ho'ing so I've got a couple months to prepare for the new crop.

I like everything about the looks of this driver except for some reason the size of the "Z star" on the sole of the club seems disproportionate and turns me off a little.
