Has anybody else named one of their clubs???  My Ping Anser putter has been named "Mrs Kensington"... the name came about this summer after a few "refreshments" on the course and the resulting Austin Powers immitation I was doing after getting some heat for loosing my "MOJO" (put a few Nike Mojo golf balls in the same lake) ....  am I alone in naming a club????  If not what names have fellow Golfwrx members used and what is the background on its naming???

I have called my clubs some names, most of which that can not be repeated in most company, but I have never named one. Here's to your courage for admitting this in this forum.

My hybrid is named Big Brown after the thoroughbred horse.  I won a bunch of money on one of his races and used some to get the hybrid a couple of years ago.  It started out as a joke and then it stuck.

My 20* MP FLI-Hi is called Big Blue because of its blue shaft.  Its the only club in my bag with a name.

Nope don't name my clubs but all of us that play together have nicknames for each other...I am Stinger (made the mistake of telling them I love to hit the 3 wood stinger off the tee), one buddy is Deeznutz (he got pulled over back in high school and the cop, who was a real piece of work, asked his name and that is the name he gave him and the cop wrote it down looked again and tore the paper up LOL, another guy is Pretty Ricky, and the other is Bigfoot (he has giant feet and walks all over everyones line!!) Good times

I play an AP1 4-iron (AP-2 5-9) that I call "Das Boot" because the head is so huge compared to the rest of my irons.

Buddy of mine's putter (an old Ping of dubious parentage) is called "old ugly" by everyone who's ever seen it.

I play with a guy regularly who is honestly a better golfer than I am.  But...in any kind of competition he folds.  We usually play a $25 Nassau.  With his last lost I bought a new 60 degree wedge which is now known as the "J" wedge.  His first name is Jeff.

Seems like a fellow named Jones had a putter he named "Calamity Jane".

...and I always thought my Superquad TP would be the driver Darth Vader used, though I never named it officially.

I have an old hickory shafted putter I got from my Grandpa, never really used it, but a friend of mine actually did, I think he even used it once in a US Am local qualifier back in the day.....  We joked around and did call it "Billy Baroo"......

Posted Image

The thing had the loft of about a 2 iron though, partly because it's shaft was warped....and an original leather grip that was nailed to the shaft....

It would be silly for people to name their clubs on here. I mean what is the point of naming a club that is only going to be around for like 2 weeks. :)
