Pretty sure he was using some sort of a Fastback Scotty Model. Definitely not the one shown here.

Why do Vokey wedges age so horribly? I thought they were forged, but have been corrected in another thread by an expert on the subject.

Pretty sure Vokey's are cast. They rust because they are raw. Some prefer the look and believe that the rust increases spin.

Yeah I miss my raw vokeys...especially on sunny days. Looking down at my TM wedges I wish they were raw because of the glare.

The rust probably does increase spin, and truly for that reason, maybe should be illegal. I mean, if they are so hot on grooves, I can't imagine letting this stand if it does increaes spin.

Rust doesn't increase spin at all. It's a raw finish, and will reduce glare. Rust is the by product. It makes no change to the wedge in terms of performance.

Many people like it because it doesnt show wear as quickly. I think there have been studies showing rust has no impact on spin, only grooves.
