I also played Tulleymore and St. Ives  - Loved them.

Played Sheppard's hollow a few times as well.  I played Devils Ridge 2 weeks ago and love it as well.  A few gimmicky holes but fun / cheap track.

Going up to forrest dunes on our Thanksgiving (early Oct), hopefully the weather cooperates.  I also played a Dog Track named Black Heath after the round a devils ridge - My basement was in better shape.

Played 8 rounds over all four of the courses at the Garland Resort the weekend before Father's Day. It was soggy, we dodged a bullet on the rain while we played, the gnats were bothersome, but with 12 guys we had a blast and enjoyed every one of the courses. Not sure which is my favorite but I had my 2nd ever hole-in-one on hole 4 on the Reflections Course. My previous HIO was also in June back in 1984. I guess I am destined to get one every 26 years.

This season I've played Shepherd's Hollow(36 holes, 10-27 and 1-18).  Also played Sugarbush, which, after driving over from ONtario...well as my friend put it, "It's off the list!"  It was dirt cheap, but we can play dirt cheap without driving near as far.

Have SH, and Boulder Pointe on the agenda in a couple of weeks.....

Man, I'm jealous....it's a wonder what small kids can do to one's golf schedule...my short list:

in state:
Forest Dunes
Shepherd's Hollow
Red Hawk
Grand Blanc GC (or whatever they're called now)
Eagle Glen
Midland Country Club

out of state:
Torrey Pines - South
Balboa Park GC

(not listing the two places I play the most - league golf - as I'm not proud)

Wish I still lived near The Orchards.  Love that course!

Go Blue!

Good luck with the thread!!  Hey many of us Marylanders have been known to travel for a game...so you never know about that Rder Cup style match.

I've never played in Michigan although I know there is some top notch golf there.  The closest I've been was on the 17th hole of Whistling Straits one time, my caddie told me I could get in a boat head straight across the lake rent a car and there were some fantastic courses within 30 minutes or so.   I think he was being serious...if I had somehow found a boat :)

WTG Michigan....Thread on !

Thanks. I can see this going to the next level with some kind of Ryder Cup style Michigan WRX'ers vs. Maryland WRX'ers. Now that would be a riot! GAME ON!

65 miles across to Leland, Mich. if I remember correctly. Did it in 2005, 2006, and 08'

Hey there you go,  maybe catch a few salmon on the way.  There are worst ways to get from one destination to another.

List of tracks I've played this year, with random commentary you may not care about:

Private or private-ish:
OHCC (South) - still can't score here
Radrick Farms - joined this year, love it.   slope from the blues is BS, course knowledge key
U. of Michigan - sometimes I just park on it, sometimes I play it
Kingsley Club - pure golf
Great Oaks

Public
Lyon Oaks - underrated gem
Shepherd's Hollow -  a standby
Cattails - cheap and quiet
Black Forest - solid
Grand Traverse (Wolverine) - random eye injury from turf shooting up upon iron impact.  wtf?  this ever happen to anyone else?
Treetops Signature - for the money, I'd rather play Black Forest
Forest Dunes - an all time favorite
