I like the look of the face a ton, but the ghost graphic on the toe and back of the crown is no bueno to my eye.

The crescent moon never bothered me too much, but I'm not so sure of that.

EDIT: Big thanks for the pic, best shots ANYWHERE!!!

I agree that the ghost graphic is a little strange on the top of the club. I'm wondering if it's there as some kinda visual effect when you're swinging just before impact.... :dntknw:

...I'm gathering there's a good reason for putting it there in the first place.

I bet it helps people with there swing path (inside-out) maybe. I'd hit it.

I actually like it now that I've seen it in color. Still wondering about the phantom graphics on top. Is it simple looks or is there a purpose?

Nice pics, I just don't know why ping persists in having distracting stuff on the crown. I can't count how many people loved the G5 and G2 but just couldn't live with the half moon. At least that was an alignment aid.
I had an opportunity to hit a few shots with one the other day (when the tour rep. wasn't looking). Couldn't really get a good idea of performance but we do have another odd sounding club about to come out. I've been trying to think of something to compare it against. Not a distracting loud or muted noise but something totally new but not like any composites to date. If I had to make a decision I would say I don't care for it but a total of 5 balls really isn't fair.

I would have to get the crown refinished to use that thing :)
Maybe it looks good in motion but I don't get the point of the stuff on the crown. The ball I can deal with but not the spider web.

I recall seeing something, somewhere (Ping's website, I think) that this is the graph showing the weight that Ping saved from the crown and repostioned to the soul of the G5 driver. I guess they copied the concept on this driver crown.

Great looking head... nice headcover... but Ping, WTF-- a half crescent and Spiderman's lair... why don't they throw a pic of Jessica Alba's boobs up there too, and then who gives a crap about how it plays...

Great pics. :D
When I first saw the pic of the top of the driver I immediately though of a skeleton. I like stuff on the top of the driver, I love the alignment aid on my Ping G2.
Keep it up Ping.

This is a carbon composite head right? Might not fit me since I already have a very high launch angle. I'll stay with my modded G5 for now. But I'm watching like a hawk.

That is a bitchin' headcover. I thought the G5's was one of the cheapest looking headcovers I've seen lately.

I like everything about it, shape, color, except I won't be able to get by that spider web or whatever it is on the top.

Can't wait to hear the marketing spiel on what that spider web will do for me.

I agree about the headcover...the g2/g5 headcover was absolutly awful looking...I say that but have the damn cowboys colored headcover in my bag as we speak.

Nice face depth. That was the one thing missing from the G2/5. Good color scheme but the headcover is horrible. Too busy and too much of a "Come steal me" style. I'm not a fan of the "graphics" on top either. When you put the carbon cap over a metal frame, the frame shouldn't show through. TOO busy. Probably won't keep me from trying it but it won't make my buy one.
