I have had a revolving door for a 3 wood spot for years, never been able to hit any with any confidence. I have gone as far as to drop it from the bag entirely it has been that detrimental to my scores. That said I know with it is essential to scoring on par 5's and with my length off the tee I am costing myself strokes not being able to put it around the green from 260ish. Just looking for what everyone considers to be the easiest 3 wood they have ever hit?

1) Callaway and Adams make very easy to hit 3 woods.

2) try a 4 wood.

3) laying up on par 5's is generally more conducive to scoring than trying high risk shots from 260 out.

Lots of people like the Ping G15.  I tried it and opted for the Ping i15 instead.  The G15 was easier to hit and was more forgiving, but I needed something with more workability and the i15 definitely has that.

TEE CB2.  Classic look, neutral setup, and hot face add up to a ton of confidence...and confidence is 90% of the battle for me getting ready to hit a 3-wood.

But... I agree with "Try a 4-wood"

Adams BUL.....  or maybe an exotics like a CB2.  They're long....  260 and accurate off the deck is pretty tough no matter what you're hitting.

nope, its the 2007 TM burner hands down...  that thing is on auto pilot.   Followed closely by the cleveland launcher.   Both have big heads, and you can hit them all over the face with good results.

Amen, I carry a 5 wood and no 3 wood because in my opinion If I can't get there with my 5 wood, I shouldn't be going for the green anyway.

That being said. I did hit the Superfast 3 wood, and it was stupid easy to hit.

Not sure I have enough of a frame of reference for the easiest ever, but I have a 2009 Mizuno MX-700 that I picked up from a clearance bin this spring that is certainly the easiest 3W I've ever encountered from tee or deck.  Its large, shallow head means it has no workability at all, but it also means it is just about guaranteed to hit it reasonably straight no matter what swing is put on it, and it is plenty long.  Adams BUL and Callaway X-Hot (also biggish heads) would be my runners-up in this category.

That said, I'd have a tough time thinking of 260 as consistent scoring distance with any 3W out there--even pros don't really go for it from that distance with regularity unless the conditions around the green are fairly low-risk.

I agree with both of you guys, and not having the 3 wood in the bag has been lowering my scores because of forced lay ups. Would still like a 3 wood that is an option on green light holes. As to the 4 wood recommendations I have tried the SS-06 sonartec 16* and a Vsteel 16* I have had my honeymoon phase with both and at current they are sitting in the closet!

I've tried the TEE CB1, TM Burner Superfast, 07 Burner, 09 Cleveland Launcher and Launcher DST.  Out of that bunch none of them were horrible, but the 09 Launcher stood out to me as just stupid easy to hit.  It is definitely the one club in my bag that I have the most confidence in.

New Taylormade Superfast 3 wood is AMAZING. Guaranteed you won't be disappointed.

90% of these are over 15* so it's like you will be playing a 3/4 wood. Much easier to hit and the face is HOT

when I was a boy...everything was right... have started with a strong 5 (17 degree/4 wood).. the easiest to hit was the Cally GBBII.. deep face and I think the 3 wood was 16 degrees... I have not found 4 woods that much easier to hit (PINGs would be my favs).... but a 5 wood? that's the ticket for me...

I would have liked to try the Launcher 09 with the Fit On Red shaft...had one with the Fit On Yellow and really didn't like it all that much, even though it had a very large head and I found it hard to miss fairways with it. I could have put a different shaft in, but got too impatient and sold it before getting the chance to do so.

But I've never hit a better feeling fairway wood than a Srixon Z Steel. Hot face (maraging steel), forgiving despite the smaller head size, and I seemed to be able to hit it well from most lies. Not that I've hit a lot of them, but the Z Steel seems to stand out amongst them all.

Taylormade V steel 4 wood - the extra loft will help if you struggle with a 3 wood and I would guess you would see little losss of distance versus a 3 wood.

I've put a prolaunch platinum shaft in mine.
