By combining the finest milled stainless materials with precision inlay technology, the Studio Style™ line of putters provide superb feel and sound for a soft yet responsive touch. A pure, high grade machined inlay of German Stainless Steel® (GSS) is attached to the precision milled Studio Stainless Steel body through a special vibration pad, and the entire inlay is surrounded by an elastomer cushion to further enhance the soft feel. The Studio Style line features two body styles, the softer flowing lines found in the Newport and Newport 1.5 and the crisp, boxier lines of the Newport 2 and Newport 2.5 models. Two neck variations are available, a square plumping neck with a full shaft of offset, and a shorter flare neck with only a half shaft of offset.

Have experimented with lots of different putters over the years, including the usual suspects, Ping, Taylormade, Odyssey, Yes!, but I finally (several years ago) settled on the Newport II of this model. I have played a number of different SC putters, including Red X, Futura, Futura Phantom, but this model is what I keep returning to. Finally disbanded and sold off all the putters that were taking up space in the spare bag. One thing I have found is that once you find something you like and stick with it, it seems like I do a lot better over time, perhaps having gotten use to the balance, etc.
I know a lot of players consider the Newport series a "Ping Ripoff" but to me there is a night and day difference between the SC and the Ping Anser series. This one stays in the bag...and has for a couple of years now.

Love mine....I really like the grip, it gives me great feel....never was a fan of the chorded putter grips.
I agree whole heartedly. The grip translates more feel than any putter I've ever owned. I didn't like the bright red so I changed it to a black grip, but it's the same grip. This putter has been way easier to align for me than my old Odyssey White Steel Rosie. This putter will be in my bag until I can't play the game anymore. That's the only club in my bag that I can say that about.
