I am going insane on why I hit my SH III 3-wood so darn good. And with ego humbling uniflex shaft to boot. I have been swing speed tested to x-flex shafts several times. I crush this thing. Once in while my miss-hit with the SH is button hook, but most of time the flight is that awesome climbing trajectory with soft apex and straight as arrow. The sound of impact is a nice enough ping to turn heads at the range.
I really like my xflex Adams driver but just not as good feeling as this SH. My x100 irons I feel so worn out with them by end of range session, it feels like I worked out with weights on my forearms. But even fatigued the SH once again feels butter. Ugh.
I have been searching for specs on this thing for hour now and only broad general stuff I can find like lie and length. I am now at point I wonder if shaft fitting is too general and swing speed based. The mizuno shaft thingy spit out all xflex for me. I am playing their recommended x100's in my irons, etc. But seriously questioning it all whenever I hit my SH uniflex!
I am going to go get this thing fully spec'd tomorrow. Shaft Cpm, total weight, etc. I'll post them here afterwards if anyone is still out there interested.
Maybe I would hit a newer 3 wood with xflex graphite better? I just don't know. Like I said I'm driving myself nuts all because one day I saw this in the used bin for $14.

I think these are the specs on uniflex shaft
5.0 on project x scale which is pretty much a reg flex
90 grams
I swing my three wood at 100 mph so I'm Btwn x and stiff

I've been bagging the G15 4 wood for a couple of months but can't seem to find any consistency with it.
I've heard good reviews from the Callway Diablo.Any other suggestions?
To the OP,
check out callaway preowned. they usually have a bunch of the steelheads II & III

I have a spare 420cc driver head laying around and I might just attempt that replacement recommendation to try and duplicate a driver for me that matches that SteelHead w/uniflex feel and results. Wouldn't cost more than $30 installed, since steel shafts are low cost for woods.
I might end up being a metal shaft guy for woods/driver. I already anticipate the snickers from the hotshot young gun playing partners with their graphite bombers. I wonder how much distance one gives up with exact same head in steel vs graphite.

My guess is 10 yards or less. But you'll probably gain some control and consistency.
You can always throw a shaft skin or shaft wrap on the shaft, and it will be less conspicuous.
