I'm in the market for a new driver for the 2nd half of the season but don't want to spend a lot of money. Any recommendations on the best driver for under $150? I'm about a 9 or 10 handicap. I prefer a club that is biased towards hitting a draw.

Just got a Mizuno MP 600 Fast Track for $149.95, plus tax, from Edwin Watts Golf. What a superb driver. You can adjust the weights and make it draw biased, or fade biased, higher trajectory, lower trajectory and more. Stock shaft is ok, but I swapped out for a UST V2 65 stiff. I have a great combo now.

TM Burner...thinking about picking one up myself. I think $150 for 2009, $129 for 2007.

The 07 has a more closed face than the 09 right?

Nickent 4DX Tour Spec.

With the money you save on the price, put a decent shaft in it.  Will keep up with (and outperform) a lot of current model drivers.

I was thinking about this one too. Rockbottomgolf had it for $69 but only had 12.5 degree loft.

Have a look on eBay.  You may have a hard time finding a Tour Spec model (a lot of people keep them), if you want a draw bias they also make a Draw model.
There is also an evolver version which has changeable shafts and lie/adjustment features.  If you want to play with shafts, then this is a good option for you.

So basically the Tour Model is lower spin and slightly lower launch.  Better if you are strong hitter.  Otherwise go for the standard evolver.  I have both and they are awesome.
There are a lot of pro's in Australia that still game the 4DX T spec, so that must say something.

If you're looking at Rockbottomgolf, the '09 Cleveland Launcher is the best driver they have offered currently, IMO.  It is listed for $120.   Can't miss with that one.

I can't believe I'm the first one to say it, but the Cobra L4V can be found for well under $150.  The L4V M is extremely draw-biased, but to my eye even the standard L4V F seems a bit closed up at address.  From experience I can tell you that the club launches higher than usual with the stock shaft, so you might want to consider going one loft down if you go in that direction.  As Santee mentioned, the '09 Launcher is a very good option as well.

Here's some advice, keep checking on craigslist under sporting. My buddies and I do it all the time for clubs. I just got an r9 supertri that was basically brand new for 200. You just have to be patient.

+1

I picked one of these up for $99 at the beginning of the year. It is a great driver. If you want a draw bias this one can certainly be adjusted for that. Great look, sound and feel.

Dicks, Galaxy and Smith all have the Ping Rapture V1 on sale right now.  At GG an Golfsmith, it is $149.  At Dicks, it is $149 less 25%.  That's a freaking steal for a great driver.  Many have it with the blue shaft - that's a nice stick...

The Cobra S9-1 Pro S and Pro D can easily be found in that price range.  Heck, I've sold a couple of them lately for between $100-$140...

i would go with the taylor made burner. They are only 149.99 on golf galaxy and you can buy them with a draw. Even though the shaft kinda sucks the grip is pretty good and will last you for the rest of the season

i picked up a Nike SUMO2 Tour at discountgolfworld.com a couple of months ago.  I sold it to a friend of mine but now will probably buy it back for cheap.  It was 100 bucks with free shipping, I dont know if they still have the deal, but it was a pretty good driver.  If you dont like the square shape, I would say the 09 Launcher, 09 Burner, and Nike Dymo are all well under $150.  Good luck!!

The 07 Burner is sweet.  Thats my opinion, and judging by how many other players I see with the same headcover, it gets around.

One more question for those of you that have both the 07 Burner and the MP 600 Fast Track. Did you notice much difference in distance? Is one significantly longer than the other? I play on a fairly open course so missing fairways doesnt really penalize you that much.

If im not mistaken, I think they are pretty similar, but the 09 shaft is a little bit longer--something like 0.5-1" longer.

I would go the Callaway Diablo Tour with Authentic Diamana Whiteboard 149.99 at PGA Superstore.  That thing is a beast of a club and a great shaft.  Can't beat that combo.  Saw about ten of those there in Naples, FL.

I ended up getting an 07 Burner Draw and wow...the head on this club is REALLY offset. I havent hit it yet but I dont see how anyone could hit this thing to the right side...I guess I'll find out. I also picked up a Callaway FT3 Draw for $30 on eBay.
