Any Maui Jims with their HT (High Transmission) lenses. Much higher clarity because of the polarization, enough light reduction on bright days, enough transmission on overcast days. They never leave my eyes (OK, maybe at twilight!).
Could you please tell us what sunglasses you were using before? I have typically used a 10% lens (very dark) blue Costa Del Mars; OR Gray Maui Jims which are a little brighter. I recently realized that I need more light transmission. I see the HT's are about 30% and wondering if they are too bright (too much light) compared to a 10% lens?
Thank you.
I've used a bunch of different pairs (Ray Bans, Smith Optics, Native Eyewear), including another pair of Maui Jims with their Neutral Gray lens, which also has 10% light transmission. I actually prefer the HTs to the Neutral Grays, even when it's extremely bright. I suppose if I had to contend with high reflected light (ie desert, ocean reflections), I might want the darker lenses, but for the vast majority of the time, the HTs are just fine.
Excellent....and do they help to highlight the contours of the green better than the gray MJ lenses? have you tried the bronze or rose lenses?
Thanks for your help.
I've tried neither the Bronze nor the Rose lenses, so I can't comment. I tend to prefer lenses that don't make my surroundings look too weird!
The HTs are close to neutral but definitely have a slight tint. To be honest, I'm not sure I've found a significant change in greens perception; I do know that they don't detract from my recognition of contouring (unlike the 10% Neutral Grays, which significantly reduce contrast except in the very brightest of conditions). Then again, I play more than half of my rounds at my home course and know the putts before I even get to the green....
