I was reading an article on golf.com about Corey Pavin's Bulls Eye putter. Apparently he had great things to say about the putter and that he loved the shaft......which has grooves like lines in it.

After reading this article, I remembered that I had an old Bulls Eye putter at my father's house. I bought it back when I was in high school......like 12 years ago. So I go to my father's, to find it and it has the same shaft CP was describing.

Before I go on, I wanted to point out that I've been quite frustrated with my putting lately, so I was looking for a change.

So I take the Bulls Eye out on the course with me to give it a go...... 1st hole- 18 footer for bird.....drain it. 2nd hole 12 footer for birdie....dead center. Rest of the 9 wasn't great from a ball striking perspective, but I end up shooting 2 under. Now two under at my home course, on the front 9.....is playing your BALL. Didn't really finish up the back 9 because play was too slow, but plan to play tomorrow with it.

Anyone playing these?

I think that anyone who has played the game for 15 years or more has at one time had a Bullseye in the bag, and loved it for a spell.
Like you, I owned the putter at a younger age, but it still creeps in, every now and then.  I don't play as much as I used to, so it is rare, but I would have no issues putting that bad rascal in the bag and putting it to work.
Pavin has had great success with his and I hope that your success continues.  Keep us posted.
Thanks,

I have both the original Bullseye and a S/C Heavy Flange the older version is in play with the clubs a the lake and the SC gets game time here at the club. One of the all time greats and so simple.... when my stroke is in jeopardy I turn to the bulls eye to rectify the stroke and its great self help!!!

Grew up with a Wilson Bullseye Putter. Bent shaft, tweaked head. Even had a "bullseye" on the blade. I'd do just about anything to be able to find it.

Have every putter and then some and always go back to a Bullseye (see sig). Best part is when people laugh when it comes out of the bag on the first green. They wonder where they can get one at the end of the round.

It was a Bullseye that set the course for my entire golf career. When I first started out, my bag was made up of hand me downs (like I'm sure most) and I had a Bullseye putter. At some point when messing around on the practice putting strip, I decided to try a cross-handed grip. It felt OK, but then I started to try putting lefty since both sides of the putter were flat. Voila! I've been putting that way ever since. I'm a natural lefty, but always swung a baseball bat righty, so it made sense to swing the golf club that way. But I find my touch is miles better putting lefty. All thanks to the Bullseye!

I am a lifelong Bullseye guy; I think at last count I had 7. They work for me better than any other putter I have used. I probably have 25-30 putters in the garage, most have never seen more than a round or two; many have never even made it to the practice green. I have been gaming a Scotty 33-350g lengthened to 34" for about three years now, love it. I have two of the same for back up. As good as they are they are not without fault; several of them have been shortened over the knee for misbehaving. lol I have yet to use a putter that I feel the same affection for, I love them.

And I modified and wrecked it.....  :black eye:

I have one that is about 15-20 years old. Never really putted that great with it. Even putted left handed with it a bit.

Acushnet, M5C, Standard, John Reutter Jr Design, Made in USA on the bottom, flutted shaft, Bullseye grip.

Guy I golf with a lot uses one that is pretty old. Has a flange on the back so it cant be used left handed. He is a great putter.

My playing partner picked one up last year for $10 in great shape.  He's putting the lights out this year; best putting of his life by far.  I can't get it to back and through very well, but he gamesit over his Black Series' and various other Odysseys and Camerons.

You inspired me.  Just grabbed one on ebay.  I won't mind putting with a "ladies" putter one bit.

I have a left handed Bridgestone version of the bulls eye I adore.  It has a flange.  I am trying to find more lefty versions with a flange, but not having much luck.  If anyone knows what models have one, I would appreciate the advice.

I've had a few over the years, my favorite being the SC LaFemme. I loved the feel when well struck...kinda like hitting a perfect shot w/ a forged blade. I did well on short putts, but had difficulty with longer putts.

I picked up an Acushnet Bullseye in Goodwill for one dollar. It came with the original leather grip and I have had it in my bag for the past couple of weeks.

I have a Brassmaster M5 that a buddy built for me and it feels so great to putt with. Had it in my bag for a few rounds, might pop it back in. Don't know how much the feel differs from the real Bulls Eye putters though.

I've been bagging one for  a bit over a year now. I bought it for the sake of owning it and played around with it on my wood floor when I got home. It pointed so easily and felt so right that I pulled the Ping 1A out of of the bag it had occupied for more than a decade and replaced it with the Bullseye. It's been in my bag since.

I've bought other Bullseyes, all original Acushnets, since but so far none have felt as right as the one in the bag. I'm still looking just in case something happens to the one I'm playing.

Shambles

BTW,

I believe Corey Pavin is playing the flanged model. I only caught a glimpse of it in one tournament video so I can't be sure, but it looked like the flange model.
