Not exactly a pro, but does anybody know what the kid is carrying?  Pretty impressive thus far.

Titleist through the bag...

AP2s and what looks to be an 009.  I've also seen a T10 Newport 1.5, but this week it appears to be the 009.  Some pretty sexy custom Vokeys, 909 woods.  I'm useless for the specs though...

Makes sense, I thought I noticed the caddy sporting a Titleist cap.

He's definitely playing a 909D2 with a Diamana Whiteboard...

909 fairway wood with a Diamana Blueboard...

AP2's with what looks like Rifle shafts...

I second that. His interview with Kelly and Faldo on Golf Channel last night was refreshing. My wife is not a golf fan but she overhead the interview and said did I hear that kid was 16? I said yep and she said they should play his interview on every news station across the counttry to show some of these kids how to act and be thankful.

I had no clue this kid was only 16 until reading it on this forum. He is unreal. I thought he was in college just going off the long horns headcover in his bag. He is quite impressive and I hope he finishes strong as well. My guy Hunter Mahan is too far back to pull it out. I will be pulling for Jordan all the way. Way to go young man!

The longhorns cover and hat is probably because he's already committed to play college golf for them.

Couldn't agree more about the attitude, he comes off much older than 16.  I hope he posts one more good round tomorrow.

I am the furthest thing from Texas.  But, in general, I have noticed that kids and people from Texas in general have a more pleasant disposition about them than the rest of the U.S.  Anyone else above this in your travels to the South?

Driver is a 909D2 with a ION Blueboard.  Was on the 12th tee today and he hit driver.

Also had the latest version of the AP2 with the black badge.

Putter on TV looks like a 009 or a Circa 62, had a Jackpot Johnny headcover on it.

I cant validate your statement because its a pretty big generalization, but in my experience, Texas puts out some pretty pleasant folks.

You'll get your crazies, but being from KY, you have to be a total weirdo to impress me in that regard.

I wont call him a kid because he's not even 10 yrs younger than me, but he is very well put together for his age and talent level.  At an age were ego and eliteism abounds, he came across appropriately humble and truly happy with himself and the opportunity.  Great interview, and good composure given his situation.  Pretty cool, I give my best wishes to him.

I think this is Jordan Spieth's putter he used at the Byron.  I know he had a jackpot johnny headcover on it so that would make sense with the initials etc.

Most kids ranked in the top 100 according to GolfWeek usually have connections to companies that allow them that kind of treatment. Even some without a ranking that high or a specified ranking at all can get gear too sometimes. It sure is nice.

I heard he was committed to U.T.

If so, bit foolish to commit so early don't you think? why not wait until Senior year and see who the top 5 are and take your pick. I mean if you're already making cuts in PGA Tour events i'm sure the major schools will be licking their chops at the prospect.

What an awesome story.  -3 thru 11 today.  Right now he is in the top 10.  What a bright future he has in the game.  These kids now are so polished in high school its crazy.  Any one see the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley Golf Club a few weeks ago.  The winner shot -20 for three days.  62, 66 and 68 on a tough track.
