My parents live in Florida now. They moved there last year. They didn't want to move to Florida, but they're in their sixties, and that's the law. You know how it works. They got the leisure police. They pull up in front of the old people's house with a golf cart, jump out, "Let's go Pop, white belt, white pants, white shoes, get in the back."

I noticed a bloke last Sunday at our club turns up to play a casual 4 ball. The rest of his group were dressed soberly (khakis and blacks etc). Our guy has the brightest white pants and a bright shocking pink polo.

Now, whilst I've got to admire his bravery for striding the fairways of North Wales in such fashion, he did stand out a little. Personally I was torn between thinking "Wannabe tour pro" and "Good on you son"

Not for me Beaky as I'm generously waisted but can look good if presented properly.

Was the weather cool or was it rather warm. If it was cool, I would imagine that would look a bit odd in North Wales. The more I think about this topic, I haven't seen anybody in White Pants except the Tour Pros in the last 5 years, and I play over 65 rounds a year in many different geographical locations in the states. Shorts yes. Pants....No.

Anytime it's over 90 degrees, I always wear them with a white belt. I never wear shorts when I play...so lightweight white pants are a necessity and quite cool, literally and figuratively!

i guess a rule of thumb could be if your going to wear white pants and draw some attention to yourself, be sure that doesnt turn into negative attention and hack it up. this does not go for the retires in florida, white pants anytime !

As a 50+ in decent shape I own a pair of the TW Dri-fit white pants and I love them.  I only wear them when I go somewhere nice to play and when the weather is hot enough.  I average 4 to 5 wearing per season.  I say wear them if you like them and so what if people talk it gives them something other to think about other than their miserable life.

Not got any as I think the are kind of a pro's only gig where you need a brand new pair and they have to be pristine. I ofter think the same about really awesome shoes (e.g. $200 Icon's). I'm too much of a swamp walker and the number of times I've walked through a puddle that came up to my my ankles is unbelieveable. Anyway, back to the pants (or trousers as I like to call them)... Yes, they are super cool but I am no Poults and I'm also worried about the VPL!

*I think I want to get a pair of white pants for golf. They look really cool, in my opinion, and with the new fabrics, seem to be pretty easy to clean. The problem is, of course, my wife. She doesn't like them. Shen says you can see thruough them, which could be a problem.*

If I could go out and routinely break par, I'd absolutely rock some white pants. MIght even pair them up with some custom gator shoes. But I can't....so I won't. Nothing more ridiculous than seeing some tool in head to toe "I"m Ian Poulter" getup duck-hooking it off every tee :)

They belong on women who forget that you can see everything underneath.  Except when they are obese......

I have 1 pair and they are a pain to keep clean, because once I sweat everything sticks/stains near the butt.

Love the white pants look on the gals. ..We had one of the regulars in our group wear them once...once. Not sure of the make, but they left nothing to the imagination. Another factor, we had our typical early a.m. tee time here in the Northeast and he was pretty stained up at the end of the round. Wiping hands on pants, rooster tails from walking on wet turf, a trip or two into the woods........

I am going to be 59 in a few weeks, and have worked really hard in the last 14-15 months to get into the best shape of my life, and I really want a pair!  If you have a pair of white pants, where did you get them, what kind are they, and do you like them?  I've tried the Adidas, and wasn't crazy about them.  Really like what Ernie Els wears, but that is probably out of my price range.

If I lost a bunch of weight I'd wear them, and I'm almost 50.  If your wife doesn't like them, don't wear them with your wife.
