I'm looking for a good fitter in the dallas area. I'm scared to let the big box guys do the fitting. I look at them kinda like a game of roulette.

Are you looking to be "fit" with a new set of clubs or just length and lie angle? If he is still there, Dave Murray at D.A. Weibring's Spring Creek Golf just East of the Dallas Tollway on Spring Creek road is pretty good for adjusting loft and lie. If you are looking to really have existing clubs optimized with the perfect fitting shafts then I would recommend Compugolf in Addison on West Frankford Road. The fitting is indoors but they use launch monitors and even high speed video to look at how the shaft is flexing.

Don't dismiss the "big box stores" altogether. A good friend of mine had great success getting fit from driver through wedges at the PGA Tour Superstore in West Plano on Preston Road and he is particular about his equipment - his current handicap is 1 (one).

There is a club builder in Euless who is highly recommended.   He works alot with Long Drive guys also.  Can't remember the name of his store, but perhaps a google search of "Golf Clubs Euless" might get you going that direction.  

I also had a friend fit at Edwin Watts who was very pleased.

I highly recommend going to see Bo at Golf Tech in Plano.

He'll give you your exact specs at a reasonable price.

There are some. Just make sure you find one that swing weights, cpm matches, and "spines"/"pure" shafts. I can give you a couple if you want.

John Schramm at Top Golf does a great job and really knows his stuff. Can get whatever you want quickly.

My club builder for years has been Tim Brantley at The Golf Station in Euless, TX.  Call him at 817-283-1821.  He is the best I have ever seen.

Aaron, I agree that he is a good club builder.  BUT, he is extremely dishonest.

Recently  went through entire  process @LeaonardGolfLinks in Ft. Worth...=Steve Russell as their lead club fitter.
A wonderful experience, great facility, just  an all-around great deal truth be told...
Had iron fitting done, driver=basic launch monitor stuff/then feel of flight afterwards....=all done outside off turf=like it should be done.
They sell equipment, can fit almost anything to you, and are very honest.
My 1st true time to  do such=full fittings=& I've played for almost 20 years & can play, but had a long lull in regular play and thought I might try what most players are Speaking of=getting properly fitted, versus playing my old Ping Eye 2s=off the rack...

Interesting tidbit=they are right next door to THE OVEN=Nike's Golf facility for testing & commercial shooting

I've recently used GolfTech in Plano.  They have superb customer service and will tell you how what they are doing will impact you.

Very honest, very competent and overall good guys.  

I give them the highest recommendation.

Would agree that he builds good clubs. He has built a couple for me. However, expect lousy customer service and expect inflated prices. I will never waste money with him again. I'm embarrassed that I gave him a second chance.
