I think he'll win because everyone else will shoot themselves in the foot and crack up.

I hate Phil . . . with his stupid smile he reminds us it's all a game. With all his "prioritization of his family over his golf," he owes it to his fans to play every single week. And yes, I know he signs more autographs than every other MAJOR star, but that's in front of the camera, and when he knows that the stories of his generosity will eventually be reported. :beee: It's not like he's sending notes on the sly to fellow pro's who are going through tough times, offering to help out in more personal ways . . . offering baby-sitting services and whatnot. Wait! That did get out, that Phil's an evil genius! Oh, and he's a lefty . . . A LEFTY FOR CRIPE'S SAKE!!! :fool: And that is why I hate Phil Mickelson. Ooops, that's why I like Phil . . . I keep messing that like/hate thing up! :pardon:

That Phil, he's going places. One thing that I'll add though, even if he does win tomorrow I don't think he's fully supplanted Tiger as the #1 golfer yet. He's definitely the best golfer right now (playing best golf, whatever), but Tiger's got too deep a resume, including the Tiger-slam. If Phil, can pull of the Mickel-slam and the Grand Slam (w/ an unprecedented 5 Major-streak) then he'll have surpassed Tiger's accomplishments as far as the ranking are concerned (though not quite on career) in my view. I wish him the best, and hope he pulls it off.

including the Tiger-slam

biggest joke in golf........and I agree with the above poster, I think Phil will win them all but it starts tomorrow otherwise he is ........ GO PHIL and if he wins he should take over the # 1 slot, on tought courses Tiger just cant compete anymore, he is too long for these type courses as pointed out earlier, if you hit driver you have to be able to shape it at 230 or 240, where Tiger avgs 310 almost, no way can he make it shape when he wants, he is far from that good at the game, he will win the British and thats it

YOU MUST BE JOKING, ive seen phil before live, he doesn't shape that much, he has a natural fade (draw to him) tiger has won 2-3 tourneys so far, its absolutly absurd that you think he cannot compete. tiget just turnd 30! he has 20 years and the golden years of golf are right around the corner. how old is phil?

are there really that many tiger haters out there, you all we're probally sweating his !@# when he was winning

I think if Phil can keep it together he will win. I dont think, with how hard this course is that anyones going to catch him, And as much fun as Ferrie is to watch and listen to, I dont think he is ready for a Sunday final paring in the US Open. If Phil goes out and shoots even to 2 over, I think he walks out with 3 majors in a row...

Why Phil won't win??? Three words: Sunday Pin Placements.

It's still wide open. I am looking for VJ to pull it off but really want Monty to pull a miracle.

Phil has been a little shaky with his game. If he wins, he has got to hit it better tee to green. I think his luck is going to run out today with relying on his short game to make pars.. I got to say though I am impressed with all the preparation he puts in before each round. I'd love to see Lefty win but I am becoming a fan of the no name, short back swing, soft belly Ferrie. I love this guy's personality! It will be fun to watch if he can keep it together today. If he doesn't, he will still be fun to watch.

Kenny Ferrie to win on sunday for sure he is much more consistent than Phil round Winged Foot allthough I do worry about him being bashed by the yankee crowds following Phil round on sunday. Good luck Kenny!!!!!!

Also Phil is nowhere near Tiger in terms of achievement. He maybe the best in the world right now but not according to the rankings and he has a long way to go before he has a CV comparable to Tigers

I don't see Kenny getting bashed at all. Unless you know something I don't. Kenny is very likeable and he hasn't said or done anything to expect anything less than to be treated the way euros treat americans.

for the last three rounds Phil has remained in contention. As the heat is being turned up other players have fallen off the lead, but Phil has remained steady climbing to the top. Phil will win this US OPEN and will have a comfortable lead with no one within 3 strokes of his under par round.

ROFL...I think I've pulled a muscle. I thought it was me that was messed up with the whole love/hate thing but now I can see it's just because Phil is a LEFTY!!! No more expensive therapy, Beruo I'm sending you the last payment for my therapist (trust me the check's in the mail).

This thing is just too wide open with too many places for not only the wheels to fall off but the entire car to implode. Watch Harrington, and remember his father has been deceased less than a year so the whole "win one for dad" thing they talked about with Tiger applies as well. Stricker was the best putter on tour last year, even tho he lost his card so if he can keep it in play and get really really hot watch out. Phil hasn't convinced me which guy might show up today, but he does have that 64* working. Speculation coupled with a really tough track makes for a compelling Sunday!

Yeah, and he gave it right back. I know there are a lot of Phil fans, but I'm not one of them. The guy is too milk toast for me and I think the whole "family guy" thing is an act. But I won't bash the guy; he is who is is. I just don't like him. Plain and simple. Tiger's not my favorite either, but for some reason he doesn't rub me the wrong way like Phil does. It may be the "awww-shucks-don't-you-think-I'm-good-I-do" smile he wears at every tourney. Ugh. :bad:

Anyway, now that that's out of my system :) , I'm looking for either Ogilvy or Monty to win. This is one of the best US Open's to date for me.
