Oil Can, black satin, chrome, etc. I don't understand what the differences are between getting your wedges done this way. i have a chrome vokey because i found it used. what are the positives/negatives of each or why would you want them?

The feel can change with the finish, the sun will glare off some finishes more than others and some will rust as the wedge is used which is "sold" as creating more spin.  Other than that it can just be personal preference for what looks best to you.

I've never noticed much difference in feel with Vokey's, and at one time or another, I've owned every finish they offer.  Mostly it's just cosmetic.  :)

I switcehd to black finished wedges that is a raw finish.  I made the switch due to the fact I open the face of the club around the greens, and the chrome finish was like a mirror.  Now my scratch wedges feel different than my callaway's, but I have no idea if this is a result of the raw finish or just different OEM.

I've used oil can, satin, chrome , black...it makes no difference IMO in terms of feel or performance, purely cosmetic

raw wedges are superior to all others . . lol i like them the best anyways . . chrome is just a bad idea for higher lofted wedges that you open up around the greens which as stated earlier is a mirror of sunshine on your facePosted Image

The same difference as cars being offered in red, blue, silver, black, etc., All personal preference, IMO.

for some reason, the callaway black pearl feel a little softer than the same chrome model...but mainly to reduce glare...although the chrome lasts longer.

Purely mental.  People get different finishes because they like the look.  Unless you remove the chrome plating, you can't feel the difference.

My ex had an irrational phobia of salad cream. Honestly.

It's pretty much an aesthetic thing to offer different looks that cater to individual tastes.

There's also an argument that, all else being equal, a raw wedge has a marginally softer feel than one with a plated finish such as chrome or many of the black finishes that are available.

I say between the ears of and in the eye of the user. No performance differences.

I am also amazed at the anguish of the paint fillers.
