I was wondering if there are websites or software that allow people to input scores to get a handicap. I know people would cheat and it wouldn't be official. I would like to do one if there was a free one online.

I like http://newlevelgolf....abouttheservice. It is USGA certified and only $14.99 a year. You get a free year to Golf Magazine with that. I have not found one cheaper.

Golfq.com has a great service that's free, and comes out with the same number as GHIN.

It also lets you print out a score sheet for each course you play and keep track of stats like fairways hit, driving distance, GIR, putts, U&D, sand saves, etc.

Great service and there are a ton of great coupons for golf courses there as well.

Gametracker on thegolfchannel.com is pretty good and free. Nothing official, but a good way to track yourself.

i use both yahoo.com and golfq.com. golfq is great because it is like the usga, and you can also keep track of putts, girs, fairways, putts, penalties, etc....

i like yahoo because it is very easy to enter courses that they don't already have. i keep a hanicap with both, with golfq hole by hole score and yahoo only total score. its interesting that golfq is almost a full stroke less than yahoo, because it doesn't allow the 10 or 9 on a hole.

I have my handicap through the Golf Association of Michigan but I have been looking for a good site that keeps track of fairways, greens, putts, etc. Thanks for posting golfq.com. I just checked out that site and registered and entered my round today. All the math they do for you with your stats is amazing. Great site and thanks for sharing...
