Anybody know what KJ is playing with? He's not with Nike anymore, good for him. Change should be good for him. I know he's gaming Ping G15 for his irons, I just checked the titleist site and KJ is on there for playing the ProV1. If anyone saw the Transitions championship final round, he was clearly playing with an odyssey putter. Weird thing was his caddy was wearing a Ping Hat, is it possible KJ might be going over to Ping? If anyone knows anything please post, thanks.

Yes, this has been covered, however there hasn't been many pics posted of him with the G15's, and in fact the pics of him using the i15's caused many to scoff at the story that he is in fact using the G15's.

After watching some of the final round at the Transitions, I thought it looked like he had the G15's in the bag but I also was thinking there would be many shots of his bag in this forum, but so far I haven't seen any.

That's what I was thinking. I know A. Kim did this last year, but if remember correctly his hybrid was lower lofted than 19*, something like 16*.

I wander how far KJ hits the 19*?

i am tinkering with a similar setup, 19 degree 5 wood instead of a hybrid. Keeps me in check, and in the fairway!

He might have that 5 wood bent to be 17 or whatever degrees. Still would make it only a 4 wood though at best. Very very interesting!

I wonder if he has one of Ping's custom grinds on those G15 irons.  They are pretty high bounce off the rack so I would not be surprised.

Wow, KJ games SGI irons? Even the wedges? And here I always felt less of man for using "shovels".  LolPosted Image

Im really surprised at him using the wedges from the set.

As to the earlier poster, I agree on the bounce..no way he's got a OTR grind or loft.

I dont know why he's playing G15 which I believe are GI irons. If you look at him swing, he swings full shots all the time. If you look at other pros like Tiger, Phil, Ernie, and even AK now. They don't do alot of full shots, they to seem the shorten their finish, to work the ball. Maybe KJ decided not to use forged/players irons because his swing is better suited for GI irons? I'm not sure this is just a speculation to why he's now using GI irons because he used forged the whole time he was with nike.

KJ Choi's choice of irons sure has the golfwrx playas puzzled. I mean, he can play ANY iron he wants. Didn't Westwood play them too?

Westwood plays i10's.  Not really surprised KJ is playing G15, far more surprised he played the U and S wedge from the set.  No way he chipped with either of those clubs.

K.J. Choi switched to a TaylorMade SuperFast driver for the Verizon Heritage after seeing one that was built for Charlie Wi.  Choi liked his previous driver, an r7 Limited, but gets a more penetrating ball flight from the new one.

I think it's great to see so many tour guys using gi or sgi clubs.  Completely changes the perception of them playing clubs that only a pro could hit.  Everytime I have gone to a pro tournament, it is amazing how similar the pros shots look.  Some playing a baby fade or baby draw but, unless their in trouble, they are still hitting it mostly straight.  I think sometimes we think by working the ball that they are carving it all over the course but it is fairly understated actually.

Don't look now, but KJ is putting side saddle with a putter that looks like the 2 ball blade that Annika used to use, center shafted.  Kind of short, too.

Saw him hole 2 25 footers while watching Golf Channel.
