Its the Titleist fitting irons. They are able to unscrew to put in different shafts and different lengths for proper fitting

He put them in the bag when he heard that longer ferrules make one louder and more annoying. They seem to be doing the trick.  :russian_roulette:

Are you talking about the black piece on top? I think its for the in-studio launch monitor. For feedback on spin, launch, speed, etc.

why would he use the fitting clubs? every fitting club I have ever hit where you can change shaft on the fly was terrible.

I doubt that specific iron was his personal club.  But last nights episode he was definitely hitting an iron from the fitting cart.

I haven't seen what your speaking of but can speak to my own expereince on the subject.  I have 3/4" fancy ferrules on 2-PW and 1 1/4" fancy ferrules on SW and LW.  Reason for longer ferrules on wedges is I believe longer ferrules lengthen the affects of the hosel contributing to feel.

GolfChannel uses ABoutGolf and they have a 6 camera radar system built for them. There is no LM used in this system; therefore, no tape or special clubs. There are 2 cameras used for each of the 3 hitting spots. Everything else is specific to GC, including their rear projection unit, screen and new touch screen technology.

The new AG LM will utilize a face tape with a white line, it is in final R&D now. No special balls, or hitting area.
Since this is a live show, it really demonstrates the sim technology well.

PepperTurbo, are you using wooden dowels in your hosel for better feel?

 nope, no wood or dowels in any of my clubs.  That said I recall I had custom dowels inserted in my old Titleist 735CM's.  But, those clubs came with a form of a dowel in the hosel, for SW purposes.

How did the golf channel get this guy? What ever happened to golf academy live? This show was entertaining and informative. Michael Breed preps for his shows by reading golf tips magazine and then putting his own verbal B.S. on callers' questions. What PGA, LPGA or Nationwide players does this guy have in his stable?

I am thinking of having my next set of irons made with dowels.  I know our resident expert, Joe Kwok, is a fan of the wooden dowel treatment.

What's behind that consideration?  Swing weight control and or influence feel.

I put money on Breed being a better golfer and more knowledgeable about the golf swing than you.  What are your credentials?

He has 7 PGA, Nationwide, LPGA players he currently lists.  He's in Golf Magazine's Top 100 teachers and is highly respected in his area of the country among fellow PGA pros and has been recognized for his teaching and published.

Actually, I see someone listed them above.

Not saying you aren't qualified not to like him, with your 18 years of experience, but don't think you want to go down the road of comparing resumes.  Then again, yours may be more impressive and that would be great, also.

As a PGA Professional then I'm sure you know that the Association frowns on it's members criticizing other members.  Obviously, more people like Michael Breed and Golf Fix, than dislike.  So I suppose you don't appreciate his support when he adds "go see your PGA Professional" during his show.  Show some respect.

Anybody know?

If you guys "hate" him so much, then why are you people watching it?  That's like me buying DVD boxsets of the Facts of Life and Golden Girls.  I hate those shows and you surely won't see me buying those DVDs.  If you don't like it, don't watch it.

I used to teach and play mini tours as well, I find his show helpful to most players and he has to be upbeat.  No one would watch a boring show about a guy teaching golf.  Just my 2 cents.

NOW, back on topic.  I think the ferrules are either a fitting cart or the black tape that's needed for the sim to pick up the numbers it needs to register.

ferrules that aren't stock are usually on there because you reshafted the irons. they mean NOTHING. they're just pieces of plastic for looks. ping doesn't even use them.
