Thanks for those pics Newportbeach.
I always get the impression of a cast putter when i see his gamer (not the replicas, the actual thing he uses).
It's not i know, but it kinda looks like that sometimes.

PS: Do you have links to websites of those magazines?
I've googled them, but haven't found anything.

Spot off.  Sergio used S300 for only a couple months at most, after he hit some of father's irons that were shafted with it and liked the feel.

Tiger uses X100, don't believe the BSG bullxxxx.
The Sergio S300 debate will go on forever. Some say it was a typo on golf digest (they had Luke Donald using the exact same fairway woods as Justin Leonard for a while!) whereas others say he liked the feel of the S300's in his Dad's irons. I don't know the answer but I do know that he used X100's throughout his whole time with Cobra and Titleist and he's used X100's, Rifle 7.0 and Project X 7.0 with Taylor Made. If he did use S300's, it was only for a short time.

Tiger does use X100's in his irons that's true. What's also true is that they're tipped 1/4". That essentially brings them out to the same specs as the Dynamic Gold Tours (X700) which is where the confusion comes in.

Back in the days when he still had shaft bands on his irons they said X100 but they were still tipped as many have said.

Could someone who speaks the language translate what's on those pages from the asian magazines?
I'm sure there's a lot more info about the specs on there. Threads like these are all over the golf forums, never ever with much proof.

Again (for reference) the post i'm talking about:
http://www.golfwrx.c...howtopic=160649

Tapered shafts and such ... i'm not at all gonna say you're lying, but it's so easy to say something is true without proving it.
Especially in Tiger's case, i'm a big fan of the man, but why is he so uptight with his specs? He's very secretive about everything that's not shown on TV, but this is taking it a little too far.

Here are some photos from Golf Style magazine - it is a Japan magazine that did the Scotty Cameron World books.  They have incredible layouts and pictures of tour golf equipment.  It comes out in Japan every 2 months (6 issues a year).  Golf Classic (the other big Japan golf magazine) does a great Masters edition that shows full bag pics and lots of specs on players every July.  Here are some shots of Tiger's actual gamer - yes it is beat up pretty bad but it has made more money than any other putter in golf history.  There are also some pictures from Scotty's Studio (pics came from a member of TCC GSS_Bapesta).

Just got the latest (July) Golf Classic yesterday and there's no more Master's coverage. Only several tour players' swing analyses...

I was wondering whether they lost the privilege or moved the master's coverage to August or September; I guess the former though

Golf Classic and Golf Style are the only golf magazines that I buy regularly. I've been collecting Golf Classic for 10 years and Golf Style for the 5th year. They're the best mags in terms of equipments specs/details/close-ups you can get in this universe...

Thanks for showing the other part of 08's golf style newportbeach

What weight is tiger's putter head? 340g? 350g? 360g?

Standard for 35" is normally 330-340g.

Scotty's 08 line uses 340g for 35", 350g for 34" and 360g for 33".

Hey I am looking at pix of Tigers current irons and the new new Nike Blades that AK and others are playing... They are dressed differently but look very similar.

Anyone else see the resemblance or am I seeing things.

They look more or less the same yes. They're a blade ... most blade-style clubs look the same, the nike's are a very simple design and the new one's aren't much different.
Tiger will probably be playing the same ones AK is playing when he returns, they are called the Victory Red series and that's Tiger's color.

Is that an answer cause i don't really understand the question. Lots and lots of clubs look the same, especially updated products from the same manufacturer.

Here's one for all you Tiger-theorists: when he gets back from recuprating from his operation next year, does he stick with the same setup or make a few club changes given the extent of his physical issues?

I believe the day that tiger can no longer play blades and semi-traditionalist clubs will be the day he hangs it up.

Under the current rules and regulations enforced by the USGA, club designers have no choice but to create essentially the same clubs over and over again. Every Muscle Back Blade is going to look like the next for this reason.

Which regulations would those be?  I'm not quite sure I follow.

I know there was the change to the groove rule, but I don't see how that would affect the appearance of musclebacks.

I haven't heard of those regulations either, but let's get real, there's only so much you can do with a muscleback.  You can always change the look of the cavity on a cavity back, even though it doesn't accomplish anything.

Indeed as you can see in this pic. http://www.golfwrx.c...209122375-4.jpg

In that white circle it says the shaft specs. I can't read the numbers, but it certainly says "DG-X". I'm 95% sure it says "DG-X100"
I think we can all agree those pics are as accurate as it will get.

Yeah.  I mean, I don't want to sound like too much of a cynic but I'd seriously be surprised if more than just a handful of guys on tour use those DG Tour shafts.

I thought that is what I said!

At post #61 you get an over head shot of a supposed Tiger Woods putter. It appears the neck/hosel of his putter joins at the head further away from the putter's face than on the stock Newport 2s. This would ammount to perhaps less offset on Tiger's personal than on the stock Newport 2s.

Being that he has the longest WITB signature in the history of this forum he must know everything about clubs :russian_roulette:

Seriously are people really so delusional that they still believe this urban myth.....quite frankly Muiras are the most overrated/over priced clubs in the history of golf, sure they are pretty but there is a reason no one on tour uses them any longer, not even Taylor Made has them make clubs any longer.  If they were really that good all the pros would game them.  So when you make staetments like this all you are doing is bringing up a myth that started circa 1998, and has only spread because of the internet, so get in the 21st century, you are not impressing anyone on this site by bringing up ancient history/rumors.  Only making yourself look ignorant.

I know people call Tiger still playing mizuno irons an urban legend, but I have heard from two very reliable sources that mizuno is still making his irons. You can attack me at will, but there has to be something to this. One of the sources told me he heard it from a source in the mizuno camp!! At first I have to admit that I was a little pissed, but it makes perfect sense. Anybody with any other info? By the way I just picked up a set of Mizuno MP-67's and shafted with Nippon 1050gh shafts, best irons I have ever owned!!

I have no clue who makes his Nike's but Hoffman made his Titleist 681 irons.
