Any of you out there had a chance to hit both of these drivers? I've hit the i15 and really like it, but I am drawn to the Callaway drivers now that they have hosels. One of the longest drivers that I have ever hit was the FT-5TH.
Anyone have any opinions on the two? Spin, sound, distance, etc. Help me out!

My son just went down the road you are going. He did play the imix FT9. He tried out the I15 and loved it....minus the moon on the crown. We were looking to get an I15 when he tried out the FT9 TA. This changed everything. Once trying the TA, his mind was changed. We ended up getting the new FT Tour which is basically the TA with some minor changes. We have only had his shaft in this driver for a few days, but after a few sessions with it, he loves his choice. I was working in my shop last night on his driver and he came out and talked and even said "can you believe I almost got an I15 instead of this?" The biggest difference I can tell without hitting them is the sound. The FT Tour has a nice solid sound to the head when the ball comes off of it. It also seems to be a lower ball flight than the I15. (Both he uses are 8.5) Top line, no comparison, the FT Tour is a beautiful almost classic looking head. Both are great drivers, The FT Tour just has a few intangibles that make a difference.

Minime,
My sons tournament scoring average over the last year was 73.6 He is a freshman in high school (14) He does play on the varsity of the #1 ranked HS golf team here in TX and even with his scoring average and resume, it doesn't even guarantee him a top 5 spot on this team! The competition at this school is brutal.
He has only had this club a few days. Using it on the range, he absolutely loves it and last night, did not hesitate to put it in his bag as his gamer. He says besides it feeling so solid, he says that the miss hits are carrying further than miss hits with the FT9 imix. I pulled his Aldila R.I.P. shaft from his FT9 and switched it out with the stock Voo Doo that was originally in this Tour. Hitting it on the range last night, it was impressive. He is playing it 45.75" so he picks up a bit from the length, but he was calling his shots with this driver last night.
One thing I had hoped Callaway would have ventured away from the .350 hosel. Not to be, the new FT Tour is a .350 hosel and shaft. If you plan on using a .335 shaft, be prepared to use a brass shim. No biggie, just something to know
David, this one was built at Callaway, but they are still a few weeks before they will hit the shops.

The stock Voo Doo felt awesome. In fact, once I pulled it, Itook it and installed it in an imix adapter and now it is going to be my gamer
I have not got to hit it with my setup, but it worked out well for me since I like my driver cut at 44.50 and changing from the FT Tour hosel to the imix adapter, you loose some length in the setup.
Personally, I think this new FT Tour is going to be a huge hit this year. This driver has it all IMHO, aesthetics both visual and audible and the performance seems to be a step up from other drivers of the past. It is long and forgiving. Here couple more pics. BTW, he paint filled the TOUR and the 8.5 translucent red.
