I think he switched to 2 pro blacks.  One has a black tie altus in it, the other has the standard altus  believe...

We caught up with Rickie this week as he prepared to compete in the Frys.com Open and got a close-up look at what’s in his bag. As you can see from the images in the photo gallery, Rickie’s bleeds OSU orange in tribute to his former college golf team. That’s what we call custom paint! OK.  As you probably know his contract is with Titleist.  What I don't  know is what his contract stipulates club wise; that isn't published knowledge.  

Tour players put this or that in their bag all the time; but doing what Ricky's doing does beg the question why is he throwing it at the media, there by throwing it in Titleist's face.  Ricky's good but he's not good enough to test a major sponsor like Titleist, least IMO.

when most tour players sign with a company to play their clubs, their contracts usually only say they have to carry 12 of their clubs. Rickie is probably allowed to carry those 2 adams hybrids

What the hell are you talking about?  

He does not have a 14 club contract (He still has 12 Acushnet clubs in the bag btw).  How is he throwing anything in Titleist's face?  In 9 events as a pro, he has 2 top 5's, 4 top 10's, and more than 1.4 million in earnings.  He does a great job repping his brand, and has since he was one of the finest amateurs on the planet.

As far as I know tour contracts are slightly different.  As well as hes played Im sure he can game whatever he likes.  Looks like Titleist needs to make him a better hybrid!

He is still putting a titleist headcover on one of the Adams at least. I saw it yesterday and was wondering if titleist had him a proto hybrid because it did look like the Adams. After he hit it the Titileist headcover went right back on it though.

+1 no idea what hes talking about.  Looks like Rickie has changed up the woods and hybrids a little bit recently.  Last time he was in contention he had the Cobra Pro 3 wood, 585H 17 and Pro Black 20...so hes switched to a 909 series 3 wood, and 2 Pro Blacks?

He aught to swith to something that gives him a little more confidence, say, from the 230 yard range...you know...for those pesky par 5's with island greens but plenty of room to bail out....

He is playing the IDEA Pro Blacks.  I Tivo'd the Phoenix open and went back and examined the hybrid.  They did a close up - it's an Adams with a 909h headcover.  WITHOUT A DOUBT.


And believe me, Acushnet thinks they have the next Tiger Woods in Rickie Fowler - Bet on it. They certainly are betting on him.

I find it a little bit funny that he is a pretty short guy with a pretty flat swing and his clubs are 1 degree upright. I am 6'2" and mine are 1 or 2 degrees flat... funny how that works out

Me too. I'm 5'8" and always interested in lie angles and club lengths for the shorter tour players.
Unless he cuts the club shorter, he may get away 1 deg upright.  But that would lose distance.
I play std lie & length and was thinking bending 1* flat.
Maybe it's an error, 1* flat instead of upright???
