Just wondering who on tour plays from an open stance?

Ryan Moore?

Fred Couples?

Ryan Moore definitely plays from this position.  He takes the club back very upright but he also clears his body to the left better than anyone else on tour

Calcavecchia, Mark McCumber, ViJay, Stadler, Lietzke, Allan Doyle to name a few.  However, not all of them played a cut or a fade.  Moore hits a draw and Couples hits a draw from that stance these days.

Nicklaus played most shots from an open stance, especially when playing a fade, his stock shot.

Some guys play an open stance with their feet but keep thier shoulders more square, Lehman comes to mind.  Trevino had very open feet but only slightly open shoulders.

Tons of tour players aim left because they are usually a bit in to out and hit down on every club when its not teed up. Unless they want to play a draw, this alignment is necessary to start the ball online. Tiger and guys like Mahan aim way left and hit straight balls.

On the European Tour, Louis Oosthuizen stands open and stripes it.  Garcia hits a fair number of iron shots from an open stance (but shoulders pretty square).

Most of the guys play with open stances but its hard to notice. If you go to an event watch their feet alignment compared to their shoulder alignment youll be able to see it.

I have a pretty open stance, so I tend to really pay attention to this.

Bubba Watson has a very open stance....he is the first pro that I noticed plays as open as I do....from Driver to wedge....
His putting stance is pretty square....and I tend to even open that up a little....

According to Golf Like a Pro, the model golfer, which is a composite of the swings of over 100 top professional golfers, sets up with the feet and shoulders slightly open at address.  They say this set up assists the golfer to more easily feel the coiling in the backswing.  However, this is only a slightly open stance, not anything like Trevino or Couples.

I followed Ryan Moore at Colonial a couple of years ago.  He was way open, looped the club inside and hit a hook.  Also did not hit the ball high at all.
