So, I'm thinking about re-shafting my 909H and am interested in the Axiv Hybrid's, in particular the black. Has anyone played these shafts and if so how do they perform, particularly in terms of spin and feel?

Any input appreciated.

I have the Red model in my A7.  The black in good but it balloned on me.  Switched to the Red and never looked back.  Very happy.

I, on the other hand, had a different experience with the Axivcore in my hybrids.  They launched a little too low for me. I loved it in my V2 driver, but have had a tough time with them in the hybrid.  Just my two cents.

i have the axiv black in 2 hybrids and they are mid-trajectory, very stable and feel just perfect. i have the red in my driver and it launches lower.

I am having red 105 s . Very stable and penetrating flight without being stout .

I've got the black in my hybrid as well and red in the driver. I haven't found the black to be ballooning, at least for me. The launch is higher but that's the flight I want out of my hybrid, not boring necessarily. Red in the driver is great, mid launch and nice roll out.

Demoed an A7 with the Axivcore Black and was very impressed with this shaft.  Solid feel and good numbers.  If I didn't have such a great shaft in the 909H I have, I'd switch to this one.

I demoed this shaft in the A7 hybrid as well.  It felt great, even at a lower weight than my hybrid shaft, it felt noticeably more solid and had great feel as well.  On top of that, I was getting amazing numbers off the monitor.  The distance numbers were obviously inflated but I was especially impressed by how low the spin numbers were.  When I put a nice level swing on it with a slight draw, I was in the low 3000s.  I could also hit it higher with more spin if I wanted to as well.  I'm now thinking about switching to the 100 gram Tour Black in my hybrid after this experience.

Thanks for the good input. The Black sounds just what I am looking for. I am also considering moving to a heavier shaft in my driver and am considering the Red or Black for this too (can't afford another Fubuki). I was never a fan of previous UST offerings, particularly the V2, but it seems like the Axivcores are some of the best value shafts on the market right now.

I am very interested in this shaft.  Currently, I'm playing a Project X in my hybrid and I like it, but it launches a bit lower than I would like.  Previously I played the Proforce V2 and I liked the trajectory, but it could balloon on me.  The Axiv Black seems like it could be a happy medium between those two.  Anyone have opinions on it?

Joshzilla - PROFORCE AXIVCORE Tour Black is a mid to high launch shaft so it should work out nicely for you. The shaft is very stable so you should see no ballooning issues.

UST,The rumor has it that the TFC shafts are made by UST for ping.If that is true can you say what profile is in the i-20 hybrid and what ust offering it most closely resembles?

Well I took the plunge and put a Axivcore Tour Black shaft in my Nike 21* VRS.  To say that I am thrilled with the results would be an understatement.  The shaft has a great weight to it and it feels nice and smooth.  Launch was exactly what I was looking for.  The ball launched nice and high for me (not too high) and there was no ballooning at all.  I consistently saw a touch of draw, which is what I want.  The previous shaft in that club was a Project X 6.0 and I had a tendency to really over-cook a hook with it.

Until recently, I was persuing the low launch/low spin path but have recently realized that launch is your friend!  I have also found success with shafts on the heavier end and also shafts that have a bit of a kick.  Great to find a combo that you love!

I used the black in my old Nike hybrid, and the flight was high but not ballooning. It felt great and controllable. I used the red for a bit and it was definitely lower, and flew like a bullet.

For me the Black is spinny and hooky. The Dymatch hybrid shaft seemed more neutral.

Huge fan of the Red 104x. Very stable and keeps my 23* under control.

What iron shaft would be a good performer in comparison to the Axivcore Black in a hybrid?  I am still thrilled with my hybrid performance!  My Dynamic Golds are pretty good, but would Project X Flighted be a better match?

arent the blacks counter balanced? Maybe find an iron shaft thats similar..
