In a long drive contest with balls being accurately measured by an official on the grid: 352 Yard.  That wins nothing, and is almost like a foul tip for some of those guys.  There are LD contesters who can hit their three wood further than that.  I had a 132 SS speed and that was not in the top quarter of contesters.  Any one remember the old Nitro LD contests?

On a Golf course, 440 yards, straight away (exact straight line to green,) no elevation change but helping wind, over the green and behind a little bush at the back of the green.  The ball had to have rolled by the hole within a foot of hitting the stick.  Sadly only made par.  Best result long one:  412 yards and one putt eagle -- that was fun.

Far more impressive, but not hit by me, was a 223 yard 7 iron in windless conditions that went straight up carrying water and landing like a butter fly on a flat green -- that one was hit by a tour pro who has won a whole bunch of majors. Seeing that shot ended any thought that I could hit truly long balls.  The only way to stop that shot was to hit a moon ball.  He did and it went 223 yards and stopped within a yard or two of its ball mark.  Knowing you are a hack and not monster long is sort of humbling if you once thought you were... There are always guys out there who can top anything you might do or dream you could do -- it is a useless exercize to worry about.

Last year daya after day one at the Jubilee course at St Andrews firm fairway but flat and a slight downwind 320 yds but was the provisional. The day after at Carnoustie blasted one on Hogan's Alley 320 also.

If we're talking about total yards, I would be at 320 yards.  In Redgate Golf Course in MD, hole 7 is a short part 4 where left is in the parking lot and right is downhill that leads to a little valley and is a difficult approach shot to the green since it will be elevated maybe about 50-60 ft.  I take out driver, a Mizuno MX 700 with a diamana WB 63g stiff flex.  I take one good fast swing and knock it down the middle and actually had a little baby draw in it.  I'm walking away and my cousin says..."whoa it took a weird bounce" and then yells fore since he sees it going towards the green.  Again, my longest drive before has been 250 total so there was no way I was going to reach it.  The group on the green just watches it roll at the very front of the green and one of them gives us the "hey guys we're still here shoulder shrug".  I drive up and apologize, no confrontation and actually congratulate me on making it on the green in one shot.  The ball must have hit a sprinkler head or some type of metal marker cause it bounced at least 40-50 yards.  Distance was calculated using my cousins GPS app on his phone.

I played Lakeview up in WV and the hole was 515 and I was next to the 100 mark. So 415.

However, the 100 mark was probably a solid 40+ feet below the tee box hah.

I carry about 270 so you figure thats a 110 yard difference LOL.

LONGEST DRIVE on flat land- wind aided 360, non wind aided- 330.

Avg carry is 270 but can reach 290 and roll.   No one is going to believe me but thats ok. it is what it is.

All but the 415 were marked on the GPS.

357 yards on Black Bear #8, Delhi, LA. on August 22, 2008 measured with both a SG5 and a G8. I used a Tour Edge Exotics Proto 9* and a Speeder 757. I was playing a practice round with one of the assistant pros before a 2-man tournament. We were behind the Head Pro and another assistant. Both were sitting in the cart waiting for the green to clear when they saw and heard my tee shot go over their head. They swear it didn't hit a sprinkler or the cart path. It was just one of those smooth 85% swings and a nice little 12 yard draw that carried around 325-330. My swing speed has never been over 118 and at the time was around 115. I've hit several 315-320's that carry around 290 and every one has had that same smooth feel and tempo. Go figure.

This was my post from a few years back on this thread. Last Sunday I surpassed this by quite a bit:

394 yards on Lakeview #7, Morgantown, WV., June 3rd, 2012 562 yard Par 5, measured with a G8. Also it was measured 18 yards short of the 150 pole with a Leupold GX2 and witnessed by the marshal. I used a Razr Hawk Tour Proto 8.5 with a Fuji Moto Speeder VC 6.2 and a B'stone B330S. This hole is downhill and there's no doubt I received about 75 yards of roll. I'd just doubled the previous hole and guess I had a little "red a$$".

Just hit my longest, 296. Of course I understand that that is around 20 yards shy of WRX's average drive, but what can I say... :P

I don't know yardage but I recall when I played tournaments years ago I was playing with another guy who was a decent hitter and a short hitter who kept talking about our distance. One downhill par 5 into a breeze the other good hitter had one of his better drives, a good 3 wood and a full 9 iron, I was on the green with a big drive and 3 wood, the short hitter kept talking about it the rest of the round!!! I could hit the ball well in those days. Last season I played an uphill 400 yard par 4 and caught a drive that launched as high as a PW with a slight draw and landed/pluged on the 100 yard marker from the green, so it was a genuine 300 yard uphill carry, I was using my old MP-001 10 degree driver, long driver but unforgiving.

I can't tell if people are joking or are serious or got their yardages messed up. Seems like everyone has hit it over 400 yds.

Well guess what my farthest drive with my wilson fat shaft driver is probably around 260. My swing has really improved though so Im sure when I really golf in a few weeks ill beat it.

960, no wind, no altitude about 20 yards downhill.

I hit the parking lot. bounced off the roof of the caddyshack, rolled through the busy street and into the chipotle that I went to after my round.  It ended up in my burrito, that was a pleasant surprise. GPS verified (I always bring it into Chipotle, just in case, you never know what you'll need in Chipotle).

425 off a cart path just to the right side of the right rough to a 468 yard par 4 and still got double bogey :(   i had a bunch of trees in the way for my second shot and i got stuck in there for an additional shot trying a bubba watson curve to get to the green instead of just punching out lateral

270 yards. Happened today. Downhill fairway sloping to the right. I hit the ball on the left side of the fairway, and it just kept rolling. My farthest before that was probably 230 maybe. I'm 15 years old.

Some guys can hit it long. I was playing it a scratch player a few weeks back, on a flat Par 5 I hit a good 300 yard drive which hit the fairway and got some roll, and had a full 3 iron to the green, a hole beyond the reach of most unless you really catch one, the guy I was playing with who is quite short in height hit a drive into the rough which got no roll at all, and he was on the green with a 7 iron second shot!!!! It put me in my place!

I hit one of those 400, but like others, it is severly downhill which really doesn't make it that long. For example, on that same hole I hit 400 yards, I hit a duck hook probably carried 100 yards, hit the cartpath and jumped down to about 300 lol.

But today I did hit a 366 drive at LPGA on the champions course on number 18. I aimed over the bunker that, to carry was like 260, figuring I would draw it, instead I bombed it into the fairway on number nine and man I crushed that sucker. Best swing I have ever taken.

I think my longest standard drive with no wind/hill/cartpath/other is about 335.  328 yard hole, drove it to the back side of the green.  I have hit a couple close to 400 in the midwest 30+ mph downwind.  Just a few weeks ago in men's league, I hit driver 9 iron into a 570 yard par 5 up a pretty good sized hill because of a 4 club downwind.  Hit the drive right about 360 into the rough and then a 210 9 iron that bounced 15 yards short of the green and rolled up.  Word of that made it around my club - the guy working the counter in the pro shop asked me about it later that week, and then I overheard a group of guys I didn't know out on the patio gabbing about it.  I thought that was pretty funny.

I hit one on hole 5 at Karsten Creek, it was playing about 400 and downwind, probably 15-20 MPH wind, pretty much level ground, hit it 340 and had 60 yards left. I was like 80-100 past my playing partners. and yes I made birdie!
Also, for all you cool guys who hit it 300 and need X flex shafts, I've hit it 300 a number of times with my Regular flex shaft :)

Well, I was playing on a course where there was a mountain range out behind a 350 yd par 4 green.  I aimed for the green but accidentally carried the mountains.  Never should have bought that damn Hammer...

About 305 or so. 380 yard par 4 11th at Canebreak Country Club in Hattiesburg, MS. I had about 75 in. I piped one and it landed in the steepest part of a firm, downhill fairway and got a great kick forward. Not much wind.  Hit with a Taylormade Burner Superfast 1.0 TP 8.5 w/ Fujikura Motore F1 65 stiff shaft. My average is about 250-265.

Hit another 350 or so yesterday.  My favourite driving hole, it was down wind witrh a smbit of an elevated tee, A good bounce and matched my longest on this hole.  What kills me is it was a good wind, but not as strong as the last time, and I took a swing, but didn't try to cream it like I had before.   :screwyeyes
I love my new FT-Tour driver :)

1021 yards, first hole was a dogleg right par 5 and I was thinking cut the corner, so I sit the face open and swing as hard as I can, it went dead straight somehow, landed on the cartpath, rolled down the street for 600 yards, and back onto the course, I found this ball on the 5th hole, did the math.. 1021 yard drive..
I win the thread.

I can help but laughing.

Anyway I beat my long drive of 260-270 and hit one about 310yds. It was downhill and the ground was rockhard but Ill take it. To bad I can't hit 530yds though.
