I would like to introduce myself to the board.  Many of you guys may know me from another site KascoPro.  My name is Zach Heusser.   I am a  golf instructor at Crystal Springs club which  is  about 20 miles south of San Francsico on 280.
I have been Teaching in the Bay area for the past 7 years.   Prior to that I was at the Jim Mclean Golf School at PGA West for 3 seasons.
At PGA West I was able to train under Jim Mclean,  and several other of the top 100 teachers in the US.   I was also able to watch and work with several PGA and LPGA tour players.  I was recently nominated for Golf Digest's top teachers in CA.
I was asked to be a mod  for this sites Instruction forum, and I was happy to agree to do it.
I look forward to  helping  anyone in anyway that I can.

 Are you a Ballard fan...not that it matters, but I'm just curious cause it seems that everyone I know that has worked with Mclean has used a Ballard Connector as a teaching aid?  I have never worked with Mclean, but I have plenty of friends who have.  A longtime friend named Adam Spring has worked with Jim for years, and I always liked his action!

Yeah I like alot of Ballards stuff.   Ballard's book is one of many books that Jim requires all of assistants to read in their training.

Welcome Zach,

This forum is off to a great start with your addition.  Now all we need are some Harmon, Norman, etc. instructors to  really get it cooking.  I haven't met a high caliber teacher that wasn't a class act yet!

Wow, what a great resource!  I love Mariner's, but I have been there since I moved south...

How late can you play up there before they turn the lights out on you?

Zack, do you have a particular strength in your teaching? Are you better with the short game, woods, putting?

Anyone in the SF bay area that is looking for lessons I couldn't say enough good things about Zack.
After taking many lessons from lots of different instructors over the years to change the same old over swing and over the top move, Zack is the first to really make an impact on my swing faults. Very easy guy to work with, has great teaching skills and talent. No, I'm not on the payroll, just excited about the improvment he is helping me accomplish.  :drinks:
Thanks again Zack, see you next week.
Regards,
Jeff

Thanks for the instruction offer Zach.  As I just had a lesson the other day, I would like to get your opinion on the "fix" to my downswing issue.  I am getting to the top in a very good position, but before anything happens on the downswing, my arms/hands are dropping too much to the inside, I suppose the now infamous "stuck" position.  My instructor says I need to rotate my arms back down in addition to rotating my chest/upper body back to the ball.  Do you have a drill or suggestion as to how to keep my arms from dropping too much to the inside?

Thanks,

Terry Childs

Just got back from another great lesson with Zach. It just keeps getting better and better. I can see where we're going with each lesson and see results. Every lesson inspires me to practice more because I can see the what we are trying to do and know I will get it with pratice. What a feeling when you know your getting better! The new teaching facility is first class, big screen video, a great range w/ good balls and the whole staff are good guys. We are really lucky in the bay area to have it this good. No excuse not to get better :stop:

I've just left a message on your voice mail to book a lesson. My golf game is MIA and needs some urgent attention.
I hope to hear from you soon.

A few words on KascoPro.

Very good friend of mine, in fact the best man at my wedding.  Although a bit skewed, I would still recommend him to anyone from a novice to someone trying to get from a 5-hcap to a 3.  With regards to his specialty, the short game, I've never seen anyone more deadly from 50 yds in.

I still fly across the country from Chicago at least twice a year for a tune-up.  Kasco is the real-deal.

Hey, how are you? You sound like a very credible teacher. My name is Jon. I am getting ready to turn pro in a year or so, but am struggling a little with the swing. Just wondering if you possibly could help. Im getting it a little shut on the way down (at delivery position, club is a little shut). From here, i hang back to compensate. Results are a few hooks, few rights, few straight ones. Not really consistent enough. Just wondering if you could help. What should i do to try and get the club more square on the way down? I can send video if you want to see it.

any help would be appreciated,

thanks,

Jon.

Hello Zach.... checked out out e. your booking site at Crystal Spring. Sophisticated and easy to book. Tell me, can I video tape or record my lessons. I am not a local and if I do make it to San Francisco, I'll only stay for 2-3 days solely for the lessons. Currently, I'm looking into other places LA, San Diego, Seattle & Vancouver.

zach is a great teacher.  I have been going to him for a couple of months now and we can already see improvements in my swing.  my wife is also getting into the game and zach is extremely patient and actually has motivated her to play and practice (something I could never do).

I recommend anyone in the bay area to take a trip down to crystal and see zach.  the facilities are great and zach is a great guy.  as long as you are not a chicago bears fan, he will treat you right :cheesy:
