After reading through a lot of posting on this board, as well as some other OEM sites (Miura, Wishon, KZG), I'm quite interested in gettimg myself fitted for a brand new set.

Just that I'm a bit lost as to how about to find a good club maker here in Vancouver Canada.  Any hints?

Or maybe in general, how do ppl on this board go about to search for a reliable club maker?

Thanks for the help in advance

Miura Disturbuter is in Burnaby, you can ind the contact info on the web. Locations is close to Riverway golf course.

Good club fitter is hard to find in Vancouver. I had a guy in town but he moved to the island.

I'm looking as well.

+1 for Percy Leung, but I believe he's in the middle of a move so he might be quite busy.  Regardless, wouldn't hurt to give him a call and find out!

Another excellent guy is Robert Munro (http://members.shaw.ca/rmgolf).  Robert is actually the clubmaker for Miura and he's built my past couple sets!

You can try Winston at Musqueam Golf course...  He has his own shop in back where the driving range is..

hes a certified builder and distributor for KZG..

Great guy to deal with, great guy to chat with and he knows his stuff! give him a shout

ALSO: Like the guys stated above, Percy is great too

IMO, avoid Greenroom, they just bring more confusion into the game and most people can't feel or understand what they suggest....

I realize you're asking about custom clubs, but I tried the Callaway fitting Centre in Richmond and really liked it. Steve (the fitter) was really good and there's no pressure to buy Callaway, even though that's all the clubs you'll be trying. At the end you'll be given a sheet with what fittings they suggest (length, lie, shaft flex etc) and you can then go to whatever shop you like and order whatever you like. I ended up with all Callaway stuff, but there's no requirement that you do.

$60 and it takes about an hour. You're fitted using driver, 6iron, and a putter fitting.

Unless you are actually a huge techy and love ALL the numbers etc etc, I would +1 on avoiding the green room. They are great for a guy who knows everything about the numbers and this and that about all the little technical things, but for the average golfer, they will just confuse the hell out of you.

I did all my fitting with my coach Rob Houlding at northview. Definitely one of the best teachers in Canada IMO.  They have a great staff of pros and full Titleist fitting equipment out at Northview.

I get all my clubwork done in Abbotsford from a guy named Barry. He has done everything for me the past 4-5 years and has been a tremendous help to me. If you want any club work done, I would avoid golftown, both the langley and coquitlam stores are absolute jokes in that regard. Golftown is only good for balls and clothes imo.

I had a terrible experience at the Green Room. So bad it was comical.  I play with a guy who has a set of KZG blades made by Winston.  They look sweeet.  I think Winston would do a great job.

Ok, the story goes, I ended up going to the green room before I saw all the negative postings.  My experience is not nearly as bad as people make out of.  I think I'd give the green room a solid B+ on the fitting session.  Yes, the numbers can be clustering, but if you put in some effort in learning what they are, they are actually pretty good tools.

Meanwhile, as for actually purchasing clubs, GR would get a BIG FAT F.....  I can't even call their pricing rip off as it's simply beyound that.  All I can think of is that they either don't want any retail business (ie by setting insanely high price to drive out any rational potential customer), or they really think people are really stupid even in this cyber age.

Let's just say they quoted me a price for the Miura CB-202 that is 60% more expensive than anywhere else.  It's just plain stupid.  Anyone wishing to get Miura products in BC, there're 2 places that I'd recommend.  Richmond Golf Town - John's the guys' name.  Can't go wrong with him.  Or you can contact Robert Munro as suggested earlier in this posting trail.  Great guy to talk to and he actually works for Miura to build clubs for them.  So can't go wrong with Robert either.

Hey guys - know this post is a bit dated but I'm looking for a club builder in Vancouver. Anyone still doing work locally that they recommend?

Anyone know what happened to Winston? There are some new guys in the shop at Musqueam. Haven't talked to them though.

I think he's at the Richmond Driving Range now.
