He threw it down and it bounced into the crowd. They didn't seem too upset and cheered for him as he left the tee. 3...2...1......

I just saw it and it was a disgusting lack of ettiquette and disregard for the safety of the gallery. He's lucky he didn't hurt someone. Of course the gallery smiled as if nothing happened because they are star-struck. Tiger needs to grow up.

They should send him a letter like in the movie about Bobby Jones that says he can't play anymore unless he learns to
behave.

Did anyone else see it yet? It was pretty pathetic. The club could have easily snapped up and hurt someone. Tiger threw/slammed it into the ground very hard. Swearing to yourself is one thing, throwing clubs into galleries is another.

Yes, Tiger is the only player who spits, curses, and throws clubs. Disgusting! He should be banned from golf. C'mon! Really?

Tiger is my favorite player. The dude is awesome! I usually dont mind his getting upset and the occasional f-bomb, but there is no excuse for what he did there. One of these days he is gonna come home and Elin is going to give him the pissed off wife look and say "Samantha wants to know why she saw daddy acting bad on tv". He will stop doing it then.

No, he isn't the only one spitting and cursing and throwing clubs...but nobody else is Tiger Woods. He should be held accountable for his actions, perhaps even more than someone else because of who he is. Friggin guy wins like a 3rd of the tournaments he enters, and he has to go nuts when he blocks a tee-shot?? Grow up Tiger. I am a HUGE Tiger Woods fan, but his on course antics have gotten a little old. And don't hand me some crap about Tiger having more fire or desire to win. He has more ability to win, it really is that simple. I love watching him (or anyone for that matter) hit great shots, but can do without all the garbage after a bad swing.

OK, I know its coming...all the Tiger Woods apologists are gonna tear me a new one. Lets have it. :vava: (if it helps at all...i can't wait to watch Tiger to kick some arse tomorrow)

Club goes flying into the crowd, must've been tired of using it and simply tossed it to a fan. I wouldn't have given Tiger a second chance to get it back, I would've been gone with it. Suckas!

The scotts and the aussies are the most knowledgable golf crowds you will find
As tiger says the aussies know what a good shot is and applaud it even if IT DONT GET INDA HOLE

^^ +1 on that. The aussies are just so glad that that tiger came to aussie. I pretty sure most of them wanted to see tiger play and get angry and throw a club, i know i would. That guy should of ran off with the driver, he would of got some big bucks for that.

I haven't seen the video yet, but wanted to put my two pesos in the discussion.

Tiger is my fave. It wouldn't bother me if he won every tournament every week.

Being human, he has flaws. I do wish he would keep his temper in check. I can't help but believe that his father would be disappointed in these little outbursts.

I've definitely never seen a professional golfer slam a club so wildly that it flew into the crowd. That isn't just unprofessional, it's dangerous. Don't act like it isn't a big deal because it really is. At least no one got hurt.

Can somebody post the video pls.
I like tiger too, but , his "attitude" is freaking cold compare to Phil.
Every time I see him spit, makes me feel bad, why does he have to do it.
why not Phil, why not others? to b # 1 means has to have something unique?

If the driver would have hit me, I would have broken it over my knee and handed it back to him, can you imagine the look on his face? it would be priceless. Tiger spends too much time having his a** kissed, he needs someone to stand up to him and set him straight. I suprised his mother doesnt call him and tell him what she thinks.

I saw the incident on TGC. And I replayed it in slo mo. It looked odd to me. Seemed like he gently flipped it overhand in front of himself, and it gently popped left. He walked over to the crowd to get it back, and didn't seem in the slightest concerned about anyone's possible injury. This, coupled with the non-critical reaction of the crowd, made me conclude that it was in fact just a light flip, and perhaps took a wierd bounce.

I'm not saying the guy should be allowed to throw clubs at people, but unless I saw this completely wrong, he did seem to be disapointed rather than angry, reasonalby controlled (at least "reasonably" for someone throwing a club!), and not acting in such a way that should have threatened anyone if not for the wierd bounce.

I could be wrong, and no doubt this incident will get a lot of angry people typing, but I just thought I'd share what it looked like to me.

His behavior will only change when it hits his tight wallet... too bad this one didn't cost him millions.

*Will future pga tickets have a new disclaimer on the back that those who find it worthwhile to follow Tiger will assume the inherent risk?

^^^wasn't too gentle of a toss into the ground....although, luckily for Tiger, it did go gently into the crowd.

I am as big of a Tiger fan as they come, but this is getting rediculous.
Yes, alot of players slam clubs and curse...however, I seriously doubt that many absolutely fling them ten feet.
He is on camera every shot where other players dont. He is soo competitive. He expects perfection. bla bla bla
He IS an icon for the sport. He SHOULD NOT act like a child. As someone said earlier in a post, maybe is child will ask 'why daddy do that?'

Once again, I am a huge Tiger fan....but GROW UP!

That is probably the best post ever on this subject. :clapping: Everything has a habit of stopping when the wife tells you to stop it.

Shouldn't the USGA state a new rule for those who "slams" clubs purposely to get a 2 strokes panalty?

He didn't "gently flip it into the ground" or whatever the previous poster said. Tiger slammed it into the ground and it flew a couple rows deep into the gallery. Tiger fanboi's will apologize for him like usual, but no impartial golf fan would accept this behavior. The tour or Arnie/Jack needs to teach him a lesson.

Wow just saw that on Youtube. Normally I dont really mind if he swears or slams the clubs but flinging the driver into the ground and into the crowd is a bit ridiculous. They should fine him heavily for that.

Oh and Id have bolted with it too. "Officer, I thought it was a souvenier, he threw it into the crowd!"

Thanks for the clip. This is in fact the one I saw. I just keep seeing it as a non-agressive flip though rather than a throw in anger.

I'm not saying I would have done it, or that he should have. I'm just saying that to me it doesn't look vicious. Maybe I'm crazy.

You know, you're absolutely right. In a way I think his selfish reaction is worse than the throw.

I havent seen it yet...what hole did u slam his club? Im also a huge Tiger fan, and him spitting, cursing, or slamming his club to the ground (as long as he holds onto it) doesnt really bother me, but when he flings it out to the ground and could possibly hurt someone...then he has got to check his attitude. Hopefully maybe after this he tones down his reaction to bad shots

Having now seen the video on YT, it's not as bad as the above hype made it seem. He obviously meant to slam the club on the ground and it jumped up into the crowd. To be honest, I think we've seen him do worse. And I'm a Mickelson fan.
