Geez, that's my favorite thing about the guy: he looks like a regular guy. But how is his look "sloppy" or "unprofessional"? What he's wearing would be acceptable at any golf course in the country, I think. As pointed out in another recent thread...at least he has a collared shirt, unlike many others on tour with their DryFit T's, etc. (which would technically make them
not allowed to play on pretty much every course I've ever been to).
My wife pointed out that pants and shirt are both a little creepy-tight -- not very hipster there, but whatever. Do yourself a favor, bud, and size up a little, or cut down on those cheeseburgers
And the shoes: great! I wear Adidas Brady's (bought a couple pairs before they stopped making 'em), which look
exactly like Adidas Superstars, i.e. like basketball shoes not golf shoes. Love the stealth look, and don't feel like a tool if I wind up somewhere other than a golf course in them. You will never see me in two tone saddle shoes.
Really, I don't see how you can say the guy does not look 100% fine. Ok, maybe Tiger looks a tiny bit neater (when he's got a collar on!), but not by much (really just clean shaven and shorter hair). I cannot believe folks say Ryan looks like a clown, when other golfers in white belt, white pants, white shoes, white shirt, white hat, or...clearly that's just the beginning -- gets way worse than that! Some of the guys out there are about one feather boa short of a full-on Liberace look. And those trendy giant belt buckles that look like they should be worn only by a sweaty, greased up WWF "champion"??? Give me a break...who looks like a clown?!?
I find the fashion-plate aspect of PGA Tour golf to be totally lame, chee-Z and distracting. What other sport even comes close?!? Tennis is really the only contender, and it's not
even close. You know it's gone WAAAY too far when the ladies on LPGA tour look much, much less like they're trying way too hard -- i.e. they actually look like real people.
