does anyone look at Bombsquad Golf for their Buy Sell Trades. I look there every now and then but I can't get it to come up. Just wondering if they have gone under and are discontinuing or if its a Website problem?
If this is not kosher please close

Thanks

Golf WRX is by far THE BEST

Has there been a reason given as to why the site is down?

I'm going to start a countdown figuring that if they don't have this problem fixed by , lets say next Monday, they will be Kaput.

So here goes - 4 days and counting

The traffic/postings have been well down lately and the presence of the Ayotollah has been minimal, maybe it's 15mins is finally up.

Somebody should just sticky this topic for a while. It seems like it keeps coming up three or four times a day.

and now time to lock this thread too. :)

as long as it remains civil there's no need to lock it down.

surely someone can say definitively? non? an 'insider'? :pardon:

I did a search and I got no results. Even locked threads are sometimes still visible and I did not see any. That's why I'm trying to get info in this post. If this thread gets locked I'll be very disappointed.

Honestly I hope not. I started on BSG and later joined here and both sites have great info and I'd hate to see either one of the 2 sites disappear for good. There is a wealth of information to be had on both.

I'll be more disappointed if their site isn't done for good.

Let's face it. It wasn't Mr. Thumbring that made that site. It was the membership, most of whom have come over to WRX as well. Our sponsors on this site have access to the same tour goods. The difference is that they don't do the ridiculously high markups.

Methinks his new name change isn't going to erase his past either. A leopard can't change his spots, just like some people have to wear mandals...

What bad things? They seemed OK to me. Except for selling $800 tour heads that I can't afford.

While I am partial to the wrx, bsg was/is a decent site. I met Todd and D town out on the course and they were both very nice guys. I will agree that Todd is heavy handed on line but in person he is very pleasant. In the early days they did not push product nearly as hard.

johnnypro,

the problem most people have with them is the attempts to justify paying 3 to 4 times what a club is worth by trying to convince people that these "tour" clubs are actually made from metal mined from meteorites as they fly out of the a** of mutant underwater monkeys under a full moon in the springtime. There have also been accusations made by some people of possibly fraudulent "limited release" equipment being sold at premium prices. I don't know if any of the accusations are true, I just got tired of hearing about the "not available anywhere in the universe except here, super special custom Taylor Made, irons - only $2,500 oh, and by the way we have 50 sets".

That and the Matrix Kool-Aid party got old real quick.

My intent with this post is to find out if their site is closed. If someone out there is willing to 2000.00$ for a club that's their business.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were done for. A lot of giveaways, a lot of incentive programs the past few months for people to buy stuff, which kind of reeked of desperation. The economy has been tough, and in times like these the fat is trimmed.

Site is still down. I was a long time member and "Insider" (still...maybe... :dntknw: ) and I will be really confused. However, it would make perfect sense if true. I just would be more sad to not have my posts available to bring over here.

I used to go there all the time before I found this site. I would still go back every few days to see what was new but the problem is that there wasn't much that was new. Seems like the site was dead for a while.

I check this site daily and have found it 3 times more useful and interesting than that site ever was.

No big loss IMO.

I was wondering why the sites been down for like 4 days now!. I'm wicked bummed about this if this is true. Like someone previously stated, it was the people who hung out there that made the site. They were all pretty entertaining to read for the most part and i occasionally see a few of those names here which is cool.
Being a lefty, its much harder for us to find decent stuff to try. Both here and there have been very helpful in finding good left-handed stuff.
I've bought a bunch of stuff off the classifieds there (here as well). My 690 mbs came from there 4 years ago, still using them. I always got a good product. I'm a big fan.
Darn shame.
That being said, I'll look forward to doubling my time here. hopefully this place will lucky enough to inherit some of the good people from there.

'giveaways'......hmmmmm only if you bought something first.

I think that the fact that the Ayatollah hasn't been around to stoke the fires much says a lot.

My member # overthere was below 700. When I found Golfwrx there was no reason to ever go back. For those of you who do not know about BSG, trust me your are lucky. The members where a cult following and the "toddfather" was the puppet master telling them what they needed to play and how much they needed to spend with him. We have it so awsome over here with the guys running this site. There is respect amoung our members for each other and I am proud to say that I am a member of this site. Thank you to the few who started golfwrx and keep it going for all us equipment loving dingdongs like myself!!!!!
