I went down to Hains Point in DC yesterday and was told that I would get a discount because three holes were closed due to a police matter on the course. I talked to one of the guys at the starter's shack and they said that there was a bomb scare and that the police and bomb squad were on the course trying to check out a suspicious package. Turns out it was two dorks who didn't want to pay for beer on the course so they drove around the back side of the course and dropped a package containing a case of beer over the fence. A runner saw the package from the street and called the cops. The two guys showed up to get the beer while the cops were there. After they were questioned by the cops they drove back up to the clubhouse and had the nerve to pay for another round. Ridiculous.

C'mon...You can't hate on Hains. It's good to get back to the basics every now and then. Plus the price is right when you don't feel like paying the holiday jack up rates around here.

When they dropped the beer over the fence, did someone yell, "GET IN THE HOLE!" ??

hard to imagine a worse terrorist target...a bomb on a golf course..sadly, they are a little smarter than that

I agree. Fortunately, this had nothing to do with terrorism but was just two middle aged guys too cheap to buy beer from the course and too dumb to sneak it in their golf bag like most folks.
