He seem like a level headed guy. During the NT tournament he missed the cut by 3 strokes, he has game; it makes no sense. I am wondering if being black and receiving the Sifford award had anything to do with TGC thinking he needs exposure. But, then depending on how he's been coping with Graves, that disease in itself can keep him from playing any regular tour schedule.

So Ed is a moron for being cocky, Guiliani is a jerk because he never shuts up, Blake is an a-hole because he's always blowing up over little stuff, Mike is a DB because he acts like he's special because he's Pat Perez's brother, and now Vince is hiding something because he hasn't said anything really rude AND he's messed up because he's on the show. I'm glad you guys don't work for the Feds.

I think the people on this forum are way off about all of these guys and you are even farther off about Vince. Just watch his bio:

http://www.thegolfch...a...&select=451

Besides that clips of his interviews have been used on the show more than anyone elses, they just don't stick out as much because he doesn't say anything stupid. Have you ever thought that maybe he tried out for the show because he wanted to win the grand prize? The PEI winner won $100,000 and prizes. This Disney winner gets q-school paid for, free golf for a year, $10,000 from Adams, $10,000 from Dick's, and sponsors exemption on the PGA Tour. What mini tour player wouldn't want all of that? I'm surprised more good players haven't jumped at the chance to get on the Big Break.

And it appears TGC put him on the show because he's good. He flew 20 drives over 290 yards, he was clutch in the elimination round, he has hit some nice putts, he nailed the center of the glass in the glass breaking event, and he won the flop shot event. I think everyone expects him to go far in the show.

This is a discussion board, NOT an assumption board. :D Either way, unless you know him and the others, your assuming without facts. All I am doing is pondering possibilities based on snippets of behavior, body language and articulation; comes from my b/g.

This season's cast is awful. None of them can really play and they are all annoying cocky losers. I think AG is hilarious though. He's obviously a spoiled punk but he's funny and doesn't try to hide who he really is. Seems like all the other guys are idiots too but they try to act cool on camera. I can't stand Blake. He has issues. I like Vince. That's about it. I would have liked to see Ed Moses make it further though.

None of them can play? And whens the last time you won a Tournament?

Half of "reality TV" is the social interaction between the contestants, whether it's Survivor, Amazing Race, or Big Break.

The other half is hot chicks, except for BB...

I get that, I hardly talk when I play. That's a TV show where people should be talking. There's no way they'd put some one on the show that doesn't talk, makes no sense.

Do you actually know Vince or are you assuming?

I actually know Vince, and the way he is portrayed in the BB is real.

I could be wrong here, but I think there was a lefty on the original BB show back in 01-02 era. If I think of it, I'll post his name.

I thought it was awesome. It was such a perfect passive-aggressive jab at Blake.

As we all know, the show is edited to make the most out of any minute amount of drama. I don't think Giuliani is near as annoying as he's made out to be. It seems to me, Blake is a bit of a baby and is looking for someone to project his frustrations on.

I mean, he got mad at Giuliani for saying "it's a six iron" because he "was spraying his six iron all over the place." Whose fault is that?

It doesn't seem to me that Giuliani talks too much. I was born in NY, my whole family is from NY, we're all Italian and we all talk a lot.

IMO the Guiliani sideshow is about TGC's attempt @ creating drama. Every show needs a villain and he has been picked in this series. I think it is ridiculous if guys are getting upset over what he is saying-what has been so bad?

Blake is a baby-give him a pacifier and change his diaper so he quits his whining. I use to play with a guy who complained about every shot he hit and how embarrassed he was over his every shot-slamming clubs in the ground, jamming the flagstick in the cup, swearing and overall making a fool of himself. I stopped playing with him-grow up! Blake is going to have a hard time making it on TGC Amateur Tour with his attitude. He needs a timeout....or something to adjust his ridiculous attitude.

I am hoping the Finau brothers stick around...but you never know. One bad shot and you could be gone.

Yes.

I wonder if Bernie still gets an exemption to the Bell Micro since it didn't get played this year (pushed back to Spring 2010.)?

Yes. I read an article about that many months ago, at about the time the dates were switched. Bernie gets the 2010 exemption and Golf Channel tried to find another exemption for her in a 2009 event -- in addition to Bell Micro next year -- but apparently they were unsuccessful.

Bernie works in Florida and is slowly trying to get her game in shape, heading to the range after work. She played a round recently with Haymes, at the Disney course where he has the exemption this week, dodging alligators along the way. I read that in a blogspot page from Bernie's dad, one that I stumbled upon during Big Break Michigan. It's a very religious and politically opinionated blog. Once in a while he mentions Bernie and she has posted comments under his entries. I had it bookmarked but apparently I jettisoned it because it's nowhere to be found.

***

BTW, Blair O'Neal has apparently dropped her website. That was another link that didn't work today, when I was editing my bookmarks. It was a fairly extensive site at one point. I'm surprised she dropped it, given the modeling aspect.

+1. Great shot.

Blake is an @zz. "A good player is going home. Erdman gets by again." What a jerk. Hit the shots and you get to stay. He hit two wedge shots from 115 yards outside of 30 feet.

It sure seems like Gipper isn't quite as long as he thinks he is. He is consistently underclubbing. His brother says Gipper can hit his 9 iron 175 yards, and then he hits it 130. On that particular shot, I think he needed to hit it at least 165. How can you be off by 35 yards with the ball on a tee? He did something similar in a previous challenge. He needed to hit it 175 to the pin. He hit a couple of shots with his 9 that were no where near long enough, and didn't even reach the front of the green. Then tries the 8 which barely gets to the green and then finally sticks it with a 7. He has a great swing and seems to have a ton of talent. I just get the feeling he's trying to impress the cameras with his club selection.

This episode was a blatant case for waiting to film the confessional clips. J.R. wins the Dana Bates award for obvious eye area trauma. It was difficult to estimate what odds I would have needed, to bet on J.R. to remain on the show, after seeing his face. On the Golf Channel website this time, many of the exit interviews obviously -- and admittedly -- were taped long after the specific day. They needed to do that with J.R., even if meant going back to film again and scrapping what they had.

Otherwise:

* Blake and Mike ruin the show, from my perspective. I can't think of any Big Break that I've enjoyed less, and it's due to their negativity, and attacks on Andrew. Brian Skatell was a riot, with plenty of warmth once you understood the over the top boasting. These guys offer nothing clever. It reminds me of guys I'm paired with and immediately I hope they'll announce plans to play only nine, because if they don't then I'm going to find an excuse to bow out

* The progressive distance challenge was one of the lowest caliber ever, for any challenge. At Big Break Michigan many of the couples made that look simple, one precision shot after another. My guess is that one went on too long, beyond what Big Break producers estimated, with more shots than they planned to show. The fairways were noticeably tighter this time, and it was too much of an adjustment, although the players botched it to such extreme that 2 was the winning score. At Michigan I think it was closer to 10

AG is starting to look gooid compared to Blake and Perez.

Blake is just becoming a huge a**, and Perez is a joke...thinks he's entitled.

The smirk on Guiliani's face all the time is damn ridiculous!!

its great!!! i would not be watching this without Guiliani. He was hysterical as a kid during his Dad's campaigns and he is funny as hell on the big break. He is also a great player! The MET section has some of the strongest tournaments. He won this past summers MET open. He is the real deal.

I liked JR
the finau brothers are ok
vince is boring
blake makes me want to vomit
perez is a clown

Agreed. It's tough to know guys based on edited TV, but I can't stand Blake and he's brought Perez down as well.

Giuliani has done nothing to annoy me. He talks a lot, he maybe tries to get under peoples skin, and I might find him annoying if I were playing against him. But he's done nothing to make me think he's a *****.

Blake is a whiny little baby, who really thinks he has way more game than he's shown us. He's playing like a 5 handicapper.

That remark about Erdman today was a what a ***** would say. He said something under his breath about how Erdman sucks and is squeaking by. I don't know Giuliani, but I don't get the impression that he'd ever make a remark like that about another player on the show. Like Blake has shown any game himself. Why doesn't he just prove he deserves to be there rather than continually playing like a hack and getting pissed at himself about it. Plus Giuliani has shown way more game than Blake or Perez.

Giuliani has irritated me well before this show. The whole business with Duke was a joke and I'm glad he lost the lawsuit.

However, Perez and Moore irritate me way more. Perez acts entitled. He thinks because his brother made it to the show, he automatically has his skills. And Moore isn't half as good as he projects himself to be. Has he hit a good shot, yet? I loved him blowing a 2 1/2 foot putt in the elimination challenge. I wanted to see him go home so bad.

I like the Finau brothers. They're both really talented and seem pretty mature for their age.

I really liked Sean. He seems genuine, probably more so than most of the other guys.

Wish he would have eliminated Blake. I would have loved seeing Blake flip out even more and pulling a Happy Gilmore with the flag.

The one thing that really irritates me about this show is that everyone there seems to have a connection with the exception of two or so. Did they decide to pick 8 celebrity linked guys and two regular guys?

just a couple thoughts about the show....

1.i think that it will come down to vincent and tony. they just seem to be able to control their emotions and both have got game.
2.andrew really bothered me the first couple of shows, but has since redeemed himself. i just didnt realize how big of a tool blake is.

3.on another note........can vince c. pull his pants up any higher?
