I'm taking my son to Granite Links on Saturday. I was wondering if anyone here has played it, what did you think of it, and what to watch out for.
Thanks!

I usually play two or three times a year there, as I live in Quincy.
It is target golf (unless you get the 'member' nine: Quincy). It is a completely different course from the blues and tips than it is from whites and up. Some holes lose as much as 150yds. Really fast greens...but not necessarily in a good way. I think often they cut them too much to acheive this and sometimes they can be marked up by normal walking on them.
This time of year it is usually really windy so be careful of that.
But it is a really nice course with some really nice views.

you're welcome.
I personally think it is overpriced for what it offers. That being said I usually skip out of work early and hit the 4pm twilight rate during the week. Since I am Quincy resident there is a discount for that as well. So for 52 dollars I can get a round that costs 125 on the weekend.
The Tavern is really nice too. It is good people watching.

I agree that it is overpriced. Fortunately we had a gift certificate. I don't know how Golf Digest does their ratings, but I think Pinehills, and even Crosswinds is nicer than Granite Links. I found GL to be a bit "tricked" up, and the greens looked like the Patriots scrimmaged on them. Just my opinion though. My son really liked it. :-)
