I played an interesting round on Sunday...shot 78 (posted a 77 under ESC), which is near my index.

The interesting part was making 5 birdies. One chip in on a par 3, the rest were just good approaches and putts, two on par 4's, two more on par 5's.

The most I had ever made in a single round, up to now, was 4.

What I like most about this one is that despite some pretty bad setbacks during the round (including an OB), my mental game didn't break down. I hung in there and ground it out.

What is your personal best for birdies in a round? Did you go low, or did you post a decent round after some adversity?

I wanna say 10 but I can think of one round where I shot even par with 9 birdies. I'm one of those people where I can recall nearly every shot from every round and even tell you the yardage I had for certain shots.

I made 8 once. That was a fairly sad day actually, because I also made an 8 on a par 4 and 6 other bogeys, for a 73. I've had 6 in 9 holes before.

Six birds and an eagle. Four of the birdies were in a row (Holes 6,7,8,9). Shot 67 for a personal best. I normally do not make a lot of birdies, but I usually do not post any big numbers as well.

I want to say five... ended up with a 75 on a par 70. Shot 33 (-1) on back (norm. front).

I have been playing my best golf as of late and it has all been 9 hole round high school matches, the most I have ever had on nine was 3 from the tips on a course with a 73.4 rating.

The most I ever had was 6, just a couple of years ago. However, my inconsistency led me to finish at 2-over-par for the day.

I've always said that in golf, we are never as "good" as our best days and never as "bad" as our worst days. All we can do is keep plugging along. And dreaming...

I've had 12 birdies including 9 in a row 4-12, but shot 64 with 2 bogeys and a double, and also had 10 birdies and an eagle, shot 61 with a bogey.
Also made 25 birdies in 54 holes in a college tournament (8, 7, 10).

Just 6. Shot 67 and left 4 others in the jar (just one more revolution of the ball) short.

4 birdies and an eagle is my best. And I had nothing worse than bogey. Shot even par for the first time (last week).

13 birdies at Arizona National. Shot 61. Came in thinking about course record potential until I found out that the course record is a freaking 58! Ryan Moore I believe. Oh well.

Best string of birdies was 2 months ago. Shot 62 (8 under) after going one over on the front, I birdied the back side. Lake Almanor Country Club. Small 9 hole track, but cool to have that many birdies in a row.

6 total birdies and four in a row.
Should had been 7 birdies and 5 in the row, but I missed a 2 1/2 foot straight putt.
Funny, besides my 8 inch birdie putt on a par 3, the missed putt is the only one I still remember after 4-5 years.
Sucks how the mind works.

5 birdies and 2 eagles. And shot an over par round due to doubles on 2 par 3's and a par 5 along with a few bogeys here and there. That was a day when my putter was hot and nothing else was.

8 birds for me twice, both in tournaments, 7 under 65 in one, 1 under 71 in the other. That was as a teen, and I shot 143 one under for 36 holes with 14 birdies. I have issues with OB stakes.

Played a golfer from Vanderbuilt, who has won some NCAA tournaments. I was 7 under through 9. The Vandy kid was 1 over at the turn, and down by 8.

5 in a row at Bayhill.

6 birdies, along with 6 pars and 6 bogies for a rather symmetrical round of level par.

About a month ago, I lost numerous balls on the front in knee-high grass and had to make a bird on the 9th to shoot a 56. I had 16 penalty shots on the front. Then I had three birdies on the back while shooting a 2 under 34. So four birdies in one round has been my best for a long time. I've been playing for more than 60 years and never met anyone who carded such a difference front to back. Least I never met anyone one who admitted it.

I have made 5 birdies several times with 3 in a row several times as well. The most "impressive" of the times when I have made 5 has been teh time it inculed all four of the par threes that day.

Do double birdies count as 2? I make a lot of those.
