There was a time when the course was in great condition; layout is fun. I was there was well over a year ago during one of my trips. It wasn't fun due to the time it took to play and course condition was not impressive, considering fees. I suggest you check to see if they've prepared to punch or have; it's that time of year.

PS if you haven't check out Trilogy; it's a fun track too; but can play slow.

Trilogy is now owned by a new company. It is no longer called Trilogy.

I just got an email for Eagle Glen with discounted prices. I wonder if it has anything to do with aerating.

Wow - Trilogy sold. I did noticed it's going by The Golf Club at Glen Ivy now. Guess the City of Corona realized owning a golf course takes time and lots of money especially during an economic turn down.

I have no idea, but I played there a couple months ago and encountered some slow play, something I never experienced there before. Slow play is everywhere now, surprisingly in corona as well. Just might be time to start looking into private clubs. 5.5-6 hour rounds is starting to wear on me

I used to be in the men's club at Eagle Glen and have put over 300 rounds there.

It used to be run by Troon Golf when it first opened and was the top golf course in their portfolio for SoCal. My how times have changed. Owner kicked out Troon (horrid management) and got another company to run it. The place fell into disrepair and only within the last year and a half, have the new owners decided to give a damn about the place.

Currently, they are about 2-3 weeks away from being in great shape. As noted, they did overseed and aerate the greens. Layout is quite spectacular actually, with the front nine playing off the side of a mountain, great views and some forced carries. High degree of accuracy needed or ball is lost in the canyons. Back nine plays off the mountain and opens up into a flatter valley where the holes open up and fairways get wider. Greens are generally on the large side, very large greens so 3 putting is easy if you're not on the right tiers.

Tips are 7000 but plays shorter due to the elevation, next tees are gold which play at 6200 yds....very short. That's my pet peeve with this place. Nothing inbetween around 6600-6700 yds. They are, however, working on that and have some new tees added on certain holes to get that 66/6700 yardage.

People are pretty nice there, food inside the grille is excellent.

This place is a little ragged but used to be top notch all the way around. GPS in carts is helpful, but Sunday you might be cartpath only. Awesome all-grass range with a bunkered green off to the side of that for chipping and pitching. Practice putting green is a little small but does its job.

Signature hole may be the 18th, par 5 with water, kind of a snake around the water hazard.

Compared to Oak Quarry or even Dos Lagos is it better?

I was at Oak Quarry a few months ago, it was in fine shape and fun. Their 200+yd Par 3 over the quarry signature is spectacular; to date 2 birdies and one par.

Never played Dos Lagos, mostly because everyone I spoke with locally that had said nothing special to say about it; plus the views are nothing great since its near the freeway. Regardless of where you play make sure you ask before setting a TT because many courses are punching and over-seeding.

Depending on how long your in town, check out Soboba Springs in San Jacinto, Calif. It's at drive but worth it. The Nationwide tour is there this week; check it out on TV and see first hand. Not sure when they will open up for tee times.

Im from L.A so im kind of a local, i've played all around that area but deceided to try something new and previously heard nice things about Eagle Glen so i figured to give it a try.

Eagle Glen isn't better than Oak Quarry, I'd say it is above average though, if its in good shape. However, I haven't played it in at least a year.
I wasn't impressed with Dos Lagos when I played it last year.
