I am looking for a new stand bag and have not read a a lot about Mizuno stand bags on the board..usually seems to focus on Ping, Titleist, Ogio and Sun Mountain.
I'm also interested in this exact bag. I have a Titleist X87 (Premium), which is made by SunMountain, good bag but the base is a large oval shape that doesn't fit into a cart without turning the bag to its side. Mizuno markets this bag as a good carry/cart bag, which is what i need (i hate cart bags). i rarely walk, and when i do it's usually a caddy holding my bag, so the removable pockets might come in handy. wish i could see one of these in person tho. anyone have this bag and can provide feedback?
I just bought last years twister III very cheap because I didn't like the 2010 color options available in the US ....but I do like the green one above if you can get it here.
The new one looks very similar to mine so i will offer the following input:
- I like the Kabuki top , works well for me except with my 33" putter as the short putter is "suspended" in the putter well by the headcover causing the headcover to come close to being pushed off. Should be an easy fix but i haven't gotten around to it yet.
- Not too heavy, and even lighter if you zip off the large external pockets
- Not too sure on the legs yet. Seems they can open past intended a little too easy and the bag tips...... but can't tell if there's any improvement for 2010.
- I haven't tried on a cart yet but it looks like it'd have to go sideways. 2010 is a different base, but doesn't appear smaller.
Generally happy , especially for the price, but not sure I'd buy again if I didn't have mizuno clubs.
Wow.. that looks sweet! I love the bigger "staff" looking stand bags! My only problem with the Titleist Premium stand bag and Sun Mountain four5 was that they dont fit in a cart when riding.
That removable pocket looks pretty cool for the times you aren't carrying any rain gear, etc and have no need for the pocket space. Save bulk and weight.
PS.. where did you find that color? On the Mizuno site there's only black and the white/blue one.
The picture was from an Ebay auction that has expired. I was actually looking at a blue and white bag but this was the image they had on the auction.
I saw the bag in person today at a local Mizuno dealer/golf store, it does not feel quite as sturdy as I would have hoped, although the Kabuki organizer does look like it is well thought out.
I think I am leaning towards an Ogio Grom, the 2010 model in "Hoth Camo" is a very cool color combo. White and grey camoflage with blue trim, looks pretty sweet.
Let me start by saying this bag looks fantastic! Lots of cool details and just well executed from an aestetic point of view. With that said...coming from the Nike Sasquatch tour, the material and construction seems inferior. The stand mechanism seem hard to deploy and requires some effort to extend the legs. It might be because it's new and will loosen up over time. I miss the 14 individual dividers on my Nike bag as the Twister does have some shaft tangle issues. The Kabuki 7-way divider does a nice job of separating the clubs and reducing clatter. It does have a putter well that Nike should incorperate into their bags. I also prefer Nike's zippered cooler pouch over Mizunos hydration sleeve. Pockets and storage also go to the Sasquatch tour...
The 2010 Twister is a good bag but it falls short many categories that you may find important. If I never owned the Sasquatch Tour...my review might be totally different. As you can see...I designed my color scheme around this bag with headcovers and all. Can I live with this bag? Definatly! But....I just saw the new 2010 Sasquatch Tour in Silver/Blue that comes out 11.1.09. If I saw this bag first...it would have been a really difficult decision to between the two. I was also interested in the new Ogio Ninja bag but the color choices were horrible!
Sorry for the spotty review...feel free to post any questions you need answered. (I also have the Sasquatch Tour for sale if anyone is interested...it's black and yellow - pm me)
Thanks man! Yeah, I'm just trying to figure out my next bag. I have a Mizuno staff bag but I dont use it too much and my white Ping Vantage is getting thrashed.
Been looking at the new C-1 or the Latitude or this one looks the best but I'm picky about a lot of things when it comes to bags.
The Nike Sasquatch tour is a great bag except for not having a putter well. I wish there could be a way, and maybe there is a bag out there with this design, to have 13 individual slots and then a slot/well for the putter. My Cameron putter cover would get all scrunched up when I used my Sasquatch bag.
The Mizuno bag looks ok but there are way better bags out there IMO.
I have one; I like it. Organization/Kabuki works well; straps/carrying work well; legs/stand for cart works well. Not too heavy, not too big, seems sturdy enough. Staff color is pimp.
Nice bag and nice setup; I am between the Twister III, Ping Latitude V2, Callaway Diablo Edge stand, and maybe Nike SQ Tour. So far have only seen Nike in person. Leaning towards 2010 Latitude. I like the look of that Kabuki but for me Pings have always been bullet proof and they seem to have finally made a stand bag that will get rid of most of the grip tangle issues when riding.
