Phil nearly holes it out from the fairway. The balls goes in but flagstick hurts his cause. Then out of nowhere Johnny Miller makes that remark. What are some of the sayings youve heard Miller say but makes you think WHAT IN THE WORLD Johnny? Lets hear them.

Johnny Miller is my favorite announcer because he's always interesting...

that being said i always chuckle when he says a player hit it "one groove too high on the club" or the like ..LOL

Ah, the weekly Johnny Miller thread...

"He's just gonna hit a little TRAP DRAW."

:russian_roulette:

I like listening to Miller because he always has something wacky to say. A lot of his catch phrases get old though.

Silly statement really. If the flagsticks really were made from plutonium, the caddies would struggle to lift them out of the cup - the weight would be astronomical.

I can't stand anything that comes out of Johnny's mouth, but I absolutely can't stand him referring to a putt as a "trick putt". Also, why does he refer to holes as 3 pars, 4 pars and 5 pars instead of, "this is a par 3, or par 4" etc... And how the players are always putting across the "fall line", and "boy, that was a cool little shot Tiger hit". I could go on and on and on!

I love how he calls a 3 wood a "3 metal". I know its technically right, but no one except him actually calls it that.

I like how to claimed to learn how to plumb bob from the guy who invented it. He said it yesterday as Kenny Perry was doing it, and said that Kenny doesn't do it right. Kenny holed it out, and Miller said, whatever he's doing must work for him!

I laughed pretty good..

I laugh when he says "He made a perfect putt but misread it" when a player misses. Uh, Johnny, a perfect putt would drop.

a few months ago he said: "Roger, if you think that's straight, I want to buy some real estate from you!"
what the hell does that even mean????
sometimes he makes NO sense whatsoever.

heres another one i remember that made no sense: "James Nitties? Should be James Shanksies".

neither one of those made any sense :russian_roulette:

There is nothing more I want than JM off of TV. Put him on Versus or something. I'm just tired of hearing that washed up, arrogant turd.

He used to rave about hitting a cut and how good he was with it. Then today, he said he played his best hitting that "trap draw" like Perry.

What's it gonna be, Johnny?

I agree with you. I cant stand Johnny Miller. I am surprised how many Johnny Lovers there are. He is so negative and always comments on how it was a horrible shot, etc. He acts and talks like he could beat anybody on the course. I also cant stand watching golf on NBC. They never show scores and are not very informative. You will especially notice this if you are switching back and forth with football. Its a shame that the tournament isn't showing on CBS or the Golf Channel.

Els banged one of the flag earlier keeping him from making a hole in one. So after seeing 2 shots not go in because of the flag, he kinda lost his mind. :)

The best "Millerism", by FAR, is his "eh, Rog" that he throws out every thirty seconds or so.

CBS has the best golf team, I understand that NFL is on CBS tonight, but NBC really need to freshen up their golf lineup.

If I never hear "Trap Draw" again it will still be 3 years too soon. Miller needs to find another career. Like hawking GPS units on infomercials or something.

It was nice, considering that it was the finals of the "playoffs," that Johnny went down to the 10 minute oil change place and got his hair done.

Say it isn't so! It wouldn't have been in the final round to win the US Open would it??

Oh, and shut up already about a putt being a "slice putt". It makes you sound like an even bigger idiot.

Evidently Iran is letting JM in to see the new development of their nuclear program but not the UN.

I personally don't mind listening to NBC. I like Johnny Miller's criticism and weird lingo. Gary Koch has a cool voice. Roger Maltbie, Mark Rolfing, Dan Hicks, Dottie Pepper, and the other guy who is on course don't bother me at all. On CBS, Feherty makes me laugh, but Oosterhous does annoy me on the occasion.

It would be really funny if during an NBC broadcast a player was miked up talking with his caddie and nonchalantly told johnny miller to go **** himself
