IMO, She is currently playing out of her GORD! +1 thru 17 holes of round 1.

Question is, will she make the cut?

Congradulations to her either way as she has proven she deserved the exemption.

Yes I think she will. She hit the ball very well today for a 13 year old. Tomorrow should be better for her maybe as she should be less nervous.

I think she will do well tomarrow. By then she will be more relaxed, and know the course a little more. I'll give her -1 tomarrow. Watch out Ms. Wie!

I think making or missing the cut is the least of the expectations anyone should be looking at. The reason she's there playing is a beautiful thing. I find her being in the tournament and the moment she's sharing with her mom to be better then any final result of a golf tournament. I'll be pulling for her to make it through the weekend so the moment will last longer with her mom but I'm sure the two will agree that just her teeing off in the tournament made all their wishes come true.

Exactly. Playing her practice round on Tuesday with Annika and Paula had to be more than they could have ever dreamed.

The Dowds are from Palm Harbor, just across the bridge from Tampa where I live. Her mom, Kelly Jo, was interviewed on the local sports radio show this morning. Believe me, making the cut is secondary to what this means to both Dakoda, her mom and the family as a whole. Hearing her mom talk about what this means puts things in perspective. Golf is a game and what Kelly Jo is dealing with is real life.

Personally I'd like to see Dakoda make the cut so she and her family can have a couple more days enjoying this special moment.

I'm pulling for her. Go Dakoda!

Thank you for the photos; they were great. I can't imagine what that child is going through -- nor her mother. It breaks my heart to think of what they will endure in the coming year or, most likley, months. I have a 16-yr old and can't imagine not seeing her going through this journey of life. I wish the Dowd family much happiness and triumph during this trying time in their lives.

How awesome is it for Kelly to have her wish fulfilled by seeing her daughter play in a pro tournament with the best of the best? That has to be the greatest reward of all. And then to get a "mock" Chihuly trophy as well??!!!! :yess: That is beyond spectacular. :yahoo:

 That's really touching.

For those still debating making a cut and missing a cut, or even more stupid...getting Wie involved in this, I hope you understand what the whole point of Dakota being in the tournament was about. This was life and love, something that goes way beyond any golf tournament, trophy or statistic.
