I played the Orchards GC in Michigan last week. Excellent golf course, with great greens, 4 hour pace of play. Ryan Moore won the 2002 Public Links Championship here.

I also played (only because I love Ross courses, not because I knew the conditons would be good) Warren Valley West, which was in "pees poor" shape, at best. That place could be really nice with some work and money put into it.

I started a golf BLOG, rather than posting pics here like I usually do...

ENJOY.

The Orchards is a great course. Used to play there a descent amount when I lived in Michigan. That course is always in great shape middle of the summer. Hard and fast with quick receptive greens.

The Orchards is a very nice course. I was out there over the Easter Weekend and the course still looked a little bit rough, but in a few weeks I'm sure it will be back to its normal condition.

When Wayne county took over Warren Valley they added 9 holes to the original 27 hole layout, totally ruined the place. Mr. Ross design was perfect, everything drained as it should not like now where if it rains the place is a swamp. If you like Ross courses try Roseland (spelling?) in Canada. It is about 10-15 mins from the bridge.

It amazes me how much some donald ross courses look alike, there is a pic there that looks just like a ross course I play. about 1000 miles away. I think its the tall tree and the mogles.
