Crocs Ace Golf Shoes

The best bang for the buck in golf shoes

About 4 years ago, Crocs were introduced to the world as a new type of shoe. Foam molded, anti-microbial, open healed, clog like shoes that became a hit instantly with people from every walk of life, young and old.

Just over a year ago Crocs decided to take their success to the course and make Ace golf shoes in the same style and material as regular Crocs, only molding in golf cleats/spikes on the bottom.

If you already like Crocs, these will not disappoint you in any way. The platform is exactly the same as regular Crocs. At first glance I was a little concerned about the cleat system on the bottom, it is molded in, so you can’t change out your spikes if they get worn down. They also didn’t look nearly as aggressive as my Scorpion Stinger spikes. But on the course, the Ace’s cleat system gripped to anything I could find for an awkward stance. Even with some spring dew and dampness on the ground, I didn’t have any slippage on hills, slopes or walkways. They held to the ground like Velcro, which made me very happy.

Now Crocs only come in whole sizes but because of the open heal and Velcro strap for the adjustable heal fit, it doesn’t really matter. I went down a half size, and it ended up being a perfect fit.

Another ingenious feature is the air-vent system on top, just above the toes; they are designed in a triangle like pattern allowing for easy alignment. This was helpful when lining up some putts and even on the tee-box, making sure that feet were in the proper alignment.

The soft foam bed made for a comfortable walk. I worked up to 18 holes with them and didn’t have any problems with my feet the day after. My feet actually felt good after the round. The circulation nubs offered a tiny massage to my feet for my 4-hour round.

But I never felt 100% comfortable in these shoes because they were a little wide for my feet. The molded foam is made in a way to fit the widest variety of feet. Because of this I felt that they were a little sloppy during the swing. Maybe after months of playing the foot bed would have formed better to my foot, but after multiple rounds they still felt the same. For walking it was just fine, but since I have pretty active feet during my swing, (which probably isn’t great) they moved around in the Ace Crocs a little more than I care for, and without laces to tighten that up, there was virtually no adjustment that I could make.

They may not look like golf shoes, but they aren’t hideous. The khaki, black, or white Ace will fit most golf outfits of even the snazziest of dressers.

So if you like Crocs and wear them to work or around the house, your will probably love Ace Crocs golf shoes. Especially at the price, you can’t go wrong. If you haven’t ever tried a pair of Crocs for yourself, give these a try, they might just offer the best bang for the buck when it comes to golf shoes.

Did not see anywhere that says they are WATERPROOF. I don't buy any golf shoes that are not labeled 2 year waterproof. And, I don't wear golf sandals either. Don't want my feet wet.

They seem interesting, and crocs make ridiculously comfortable shoes, so they might be worth trying out. Plus, they are only 60 bucks.

Some time ago, Crocs bought out Bite Shoes. The Croc AC3 you ask about is the latest incarnation of the old Bite AC, which essentially was a golf shoe built on an athletic or running shoe frame. I don't have the AC3, but I do have an old pair of ACs. I find them to be a perfect lightweight summer shoe, particularly in a place like Arizona, where standing water on a golf course is something we hear about, but rarely see.
