I love it though, I work all night which frees up my days for golf. When I catch the elevators down I get tons of jealous looks from all the corporate guys who have to come in and slave all day while Im out golfing it up. I do get lots of compliments on my clubs on the way out of the office though hahaha.
BTW, the carpet in my office rolls at about an 18 on the stimp lol
Thanks man, Im loving the bag and feel like my set up is pretty much complete, though I'd like to get rid of my vokey and get a 52* WC wedge to complete the set.
Hopefully Im done buying sh*t for awhile now and we can get out and play lol
You were one of those guys in that Fedex commericial (where the oss calls in and you see all of the people with gear in the cubicles slowly stand up) weren't you
I see you have a Cameron Red X putter, how does that compare to a mallet such as the Odyssey #9 or Cleveland Classic #2?
Honestly I havent rolled either of the putters you mentioned so I dont know if Im a good source or not. Do either of those have an insert? I moved to the red x from a 2 ball with a firm insert and honestly, Im still up in the air about my current putter. I kinda miss the feel off the insert. I guess the red is is more of a "players mallet" than the 2 ball. The two ball felt a little more stable on a straight back straight through stroke, but when I put a good stroke on teh X, it fells PURE and the ball rolls very good. However, Ive yet to dial in lag putting with it and I really wasnt a fan of the stock baby t grip it came with, it always felt like it was wet or something. I put a jumbo winn on it and it totally killed all of the feel so Im back to square one. Im going to cut it down to 33 in. and put the original grip back on it and see if that helps, otherwise I'll be going putter shoping. I got a STUPID good deal on it brand new from golf galaxy, so Ive got some wiggle room as far as trade or resale.
And thats totally me in those fedex commercials hahaha. I bring a back pack into work with a change of clothes for the course, change after my shift, and take the elevators down dressed in my golf clothes carrying my bag.
I was getting off the elevator last week with my clubs and an older gentleman said "go ahead, you can play through" and I friggin lost it haha. Just struck me as really funny.
Luckily I work 3rd shift when its REALLY slow, so I take that time to handle important business like cleaning my clubs, polishing shoes, marking my balls lol. I'll roll putts when my coworkers go on break, too. They pay me for this!
Let me know when you want to play Matt, I can play the duke whenever since I dont have to come up with the cash up front. Im playing there tomorrow, I'll let you know what kind of shape its in. I really need to practice man, my game is slipping hard, havent posted a round in the 70's since before my trip
If its in good shape how bout sat morning? I can see if tim wants to make it as well. I cant close out a round to save my life right now. 2 out of the last three i have been even and 2 under through 17 and 14 respectively and closed out with a 73 and 74. Although 12 straight pars on the first 12 holes last weekend was funny yet frustrating at the same time.
cool, I'll make a tee time tomorrow for sat at like 830. I get off at 7 am so that gives me time to drive down there and still hit a few balls. I'll let you guys know how it looks and if the greens are shaggy then we can cancel the tee time if you guys want to.
I got them at Lowes for like $1.87 a piece. They are just simple driveway markers, Lowes's had them in both orange and yellow. Just look in the mailbox section.
Shot a 36-41 today to tie DEEMO with a 77. No birdies and only like 2 greens in regulation, but at least it was sub 80 and we had a blast. My chipping was on fire today!
BTW Jay, you should see em now. Thanks to DEEMO's thread, I stripped all the paintfill from them except for the black "b" on the back of the clubs, and they look SICK!
Yeah I was worried I wouldnt like them sans paintfill, but I think they look sooooo much cleaner. Did you see DEEMOS thread about his AP-2's? Those things look 100000x better with all the paint removed
Funny I should stumble on this thread, I was just thinking about stripping the paintfill out of my J36s today. Do you have any better pics of your irons? I was thinking of leaving the numerals on the sole and the 'Bridgestone Golf' on the hosel and just stripping the paint out of the backs of the clubs.
